Bahria University organized the 7th Iqbal Conference (International), across its Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi campuses. The conference partnered with 11 International and 10 national universities and organizations including Iqbal Academy Pakistan. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, Director General of the National Language Promotion Department (NLPD) was the Chief Guest of the Opening held at Bahria University E-8 Islamabad Campus (BUIC).
Conference Director, Prof. Dr. Adam Saud, gave an overview of the 7th International Iqbal Conference, highlighting its significance. This year's theme “Iqbal’s Vision of Resilience, Renewal, and Global Transformation” reflects Iqbal’s belief in transcending East and West, promoting human creativity, spiritual insight, and resilience as drivers of national and global development. More than 125 research papers were presented during the conference.
Rector Bahria University, Vice Admiral Asif Khaliq HI(M) (R), Bahria University’s efforts in promoting Iqbal’s ideals through seminars, youth programs, and literary events, and appreciated the Iqbal Chair and organizers for their dedicated work.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar, as chief guest highlighted Allama Iqbal’s vision for resilience, renewal, and global transformation. He mentioned that Iqbal was a devoted follower of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), emphasizing love, reverence, and adherence to his teachings.
Chairman Iqbal Chair, Dr. Habib ur Rahman Asim highlighted Allama Iqbal’s lifelong pursuit of knowledge, his mastery of multiple languages, and his vision of action, struggle, and self-realization. He concluded that all knowledge, arts, and faith must serve the purpose of realizing the self and one’s true potential.
Conference Chairperson, Pro-Rector Academics, Rear Admiral Muhammad Arshad Javed SI(M) (R), acknowledged the invaluable contributions of faculty, students, Bahria Colleges, national and international partner organizations, and sponsors in making the event a success.
The Conference was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, leading intellectuals, and prominent thought leaders from around the world, highlighting the global significance of Iqbal’s vision.
