The Faculty of Computing at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University (STMU), Islamabad successfully convened its 4th Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) Meeting, chaired by Prof. Dr. Nayyar Masood (Dean, Faculty of Computing).

The department extends its sincere gratitude to distinguished industry experts Dr. Muhammad Zohaib Iqbal (Chief Scientist, QUEST Lab), Dr. Khalid Latif (Vice President R&D, Biome Analytics, San Francisco), and Mr. Malik Sami Ullah (Sr. Manager IT, Etisalat, Dubai) for their invaluable time, visionary guidance, and global expertise in shaping our academic roadmaps.

During the meeting, key discussions centered on evaluating project scalability and deployability, redefining how programming and logic building are taught in the era of AI-generated code, and orienting faculty on emerging AI engineering practices. The board also highlighted the integration of agentic AI models and automation into academic workflows. Crucial strategic recommendations were formed regarding the university's Incubation Centre, focusing on key performance indicators (KPIs), cloud infrastructure, market scalability, and startup ex*****on models. Furthermore, the board reviewed PEO and PLO alignments to boost graduate employability and recommended a practical, case-study-driven approach for the curriculum.

Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University proudly hosted its first-ever Shifa International Model United Nations (SIMUN) 2026 on 20th and 21st June 2026, marking a historic achievement for the institution.
Organized by the Shifa Debating Society under the valuable guidance of Dr. Anwar Ali Shah and the dedicated support of the faculty advisors, SIMUN 2026 welcomed delegates from universities across Pakistan for two days of diplomacy, critical thinking, and global dialogue. The conference featured six dynamic committees:

Strengthening Academia-Industry Collaboration in Software Engineering

The Department of Software Engineering (DSE) at Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University remains committed to strengthening academia-industry collaboration to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and professional practice.

The DSE recently convened an Industrial Liaison Committee (ILC) meeting with distinguished industry professionals to explore strategic partnerships that enhance teaching, learning, research, and graduate employability.

The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Saif Ur Rehman Khan, (Convener, ILC), and was attended by Dr. Waseem Ahmed (Assistant Professor), Mr. Asad Mahmand (Director Information System, TezHost), and Mr. Raheel Khokhar (Senior Technical Consultant, Allshore Talent).

The discussions focused on several strategic initiatives, including:

Industry-oriented internship opportunities

Technical workshops and professional skill development programs

Guest lectures and knowledge-sharing sessions by industry experts

Collaborative projects to strengthen experiential and practice-based learning
