اناللہ وانا الیہ راجعون🤲

With profound grief and a heavy heart, we mourn the tragic demise of Sanaullah Achakzai, an alumnus of Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, who passed away after battling severe illness.
Sanaullah remained critically ill in Quetta for the past week and was recently shifted to Aga Khan Hospital, Karachi, where he sadly breathed his last.
He was a student of the Department of Political Science, Batch 2015–2019, and a dedicated and active General Body member of Pukhtoon Students Council. Those who knew him will remember him not merely as a fellow Quaidian, but as a sincere, humble and committed companion whose presence enriched the Pukhtoon Students Council.
May his soul rest in eternal peace🤲

On 12 August 1948, Babbara became a symbol of the price paid by the Khudai Khidmatgars (Red Shirts) for standing against colonial oppression through the path of non-violence. Unarmed people gathered in defiance of injustice, carrying no weapons but their courage, conviction and faith in freedom. The response was brutal, leaving countless families to mourn and an enduring wound in the collective memory of the Pashtun people.

The tragedy of Babbara was not merely an episode of violence; it was an assault on a political vision built around peace, dignity, education, social reform and resistance to oppression.

Under the leadership of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan aka Bacha Khan the Khudai Khidmatgar movement sought to transform Pashtun society through service rather than vengeance, discipline rather than violence, and education rather than ignorance. Bacha Khan believed that the liberation of a people was impossible without the liberation of their minds. His message was rooted in Khidmat (service), non-violence, unity, equality and sacrifice.

The Red Shirts endured imprisonment, torture, persecution and massacres, yet their commitment to non-violence did not disappear. Their suffering reminds us that resistance is not always measured by the weapons one carries, but by the principles one refuses to surrender.

Babbara reminds us of the sacrifices of those who stood for freedom without abandoning humanity. Their blood became part of a history that demands remembrance, justice and a continued commitment to peace and dignity.

On this 12th of August, we remember the martyrs of Babbara, honour the sacrifices of the Khudai Khidmatgars, and reaffirm the vision of Bacha Khan.

Peace, service, education and resistance to oppression.”

The martyrs of Babbara shall not be forgotten.
The vision of Bacha Khan lives on.

Pukhtoon Student Council (PSC), Quaid-i-Azam University, stands in unwavering solidarity with the people of Swat and the peaceful protest led by Swat Olasi Pasoon at Kabal Chowk. The reported explosion during a peaceful demonstration is deeply tragic and raises serious concerns about the safety of citizens exercising their democratic right to protest.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of precious lives and the many injuries caused by this incident. Our heartfelt condolences go to the families of those who lost their loved ones, and we pray for the swift recovery of all those injured.

PSC QAU reiterates its demand for lasting peace, justice, accountability, and the protection of every citizen across Swat and the entire Pakhtoon belt. The voice of the people for peace must never be silenced.

PSC QAU
