The Virtual University is Pakistan's first public sector university based completely on modern Information and Communication Technologies. The University opened its virtual doors in 2002 using television broadcasts and the Internet thereby allowing students to follow its programs regardless of their physical location. At VU, the top professors of the country, regardless of their institutional affi

liations, develop and deliver hand-crafted courses. The University holds a Federal Charter, making its degrees recognized and accepted all over the country as well as overseas. Pakistani students residing overseas in several other countries have also enrolled in the University’s programs. The University relies on digital media, Internet and free-to-air satellite television broadcasts to impart education. The University has its own four television channels (VTV1, VTV2, VTV3 & VTV4) and students have the liberty to watch their lectures in the comfortable surroundings of their homes which become virtual classrooms of VU or at any of the many VU campuses spread all over the country. These lectures are also available in DVD format and can easily be purchased at a minimal cost from University’s on-line Bookshop (http://bookshop.vu.edu.pk). The lecture videos are also available on the globally popular YouTube site http://www.youtube.com/vu. Over 6000 video lectures on YouTube make it one of the largest contributions by any university to the Open Education Resources (OER) movement. VU has now published all courses on its open courseware site (http://ocw.vu.edu.pk), and thereby joined the ranks with top universities of the world. VU’s open courseware website has been ranked as the best new open courseware website for the year 2012 by the international OCW Consortium. The students and teachers use the Internet to interact with each other. For this purpose the Virtual University has developed an online Learning Management System (LMS) through which the students have 24/7 access to reading material, lecture videos and notes and prescribed texts. The LMS is also used to hand out assignments to students and hold pop quizzes and practice tests. This innovative and unique mechanism for the delivery of education adopted by VU offers a high degree of flexibility to students who may view the lectures at a time of their choice.

On Day 3, our young participants proudly showcased the websites they developed over the past three days. The Certificate Distribution Ceremony was graced by our Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Ather Azim, Registrar, Virtual University of Pakistan, in the presence of proud parents.

The children shared that the bootcamp was a fun and enriching experience and thanked their trainers and Virtual University for the wonderful opportunity.

A day filled with inspiration, guidance, and exciting opportunities! Virtual University of Pakistan proudly participated in The News Education Expo 2026 held yesterday at Multan Marquee, Bosan Road, Multan, where hundreds of aspiring students explored the future of higher education.

Visitors met with the University's team to learn about degree programs, admissions, scholarships, career opportunities, and the flexibility that enables students to pursue quality education from anywhere. The interactive discussions helped many students identify the academic path best suited to their ambitions.

Day 2 of our Front-End Web Development Summer Bootcamp was another exciting day of learning!

Our young learners explored CSS to style their web pages, learnt to organize content, discovered the power of Tailwind CSS for modern web design, and learned the basics of Responsive Design to make websites look great on all devices.

Their creativity and enthusiasm continue to shine as they transform simple web pages into beautiful, responsive websites.

Day 2 of our MakeCode Arcade Bootcamp was full of energy, creativity and hands-on learning!

In the first half, students explored three fun game tutorials: AI Bug Arena, Chase the Pizza, and Joy of Bubble Popping. In the second half, they returned to their Feed the Hungry Cat game from Day 1 and upgraded it by adding an enemy, three lives, sound effects, scoring, and proper win and lose conditions.

It was great to see the students testing their games, fixing bugs, sharing ideas and enjoying every step of the development process.

The University has unblocked LMS Accounts of all the students in order to facilitate them in making date sheet for Spring'2026 (Final-Term) Exams and carry out other academic activities. However, It is advised to clear outstanding dues at the earliest to avoid blocking before commencement of Final Term Examination for Spring'2026 semester. Students with blocked accounts will not be able to appear in Final-term Exams for Spring'2026 semester.

Our young participants enthusiastically stepped into the world of web development, learning how the Internet works and exploring the Visual Studio Code (VS Code) development environment. They were introduced to HTML (HyperText Markup Language), the building block of every website, and learned how to structure web pages using headings, paragraphs, images, and other essential elements.

The highlight of the day was seeing every participant successfully create their very first web page—a proud milestone that sparked confidence and excitement for the days ahead.

The energy, engagement, and eagerness to learn displayed by these young minds made for an inspiring start to the bootcamp. We are excited to continue this journey as they move on to styling their websites and bringing their ideas to life.

The first day of the Summer Boot Camp at VU Raiwind Road Campus, Lahore introduced young learners to the exciting world of game development using Microsoft MakeCode Arcade.

The children explored the platform, learned about different logic and coding blocks, and understood how these blocks are used to control characters, actions, sounds, and game events.

By the end of the session, the participants successfully developed a small game titled “Feed the Cat.” They added background music, selected a background image, introduced different characters, and used coding blocks to bring their game to life.
It was an engaging and productive first day, filled with creativity, learning, and hands-on practice.
