The Independence Day celebrations 2026 held at Islamabad Model College for Girls (PG) F-7/2, Islamabad were a spectacular display of national pride, unity, and patriotic spirit. Numerous activities were organised by the faculty to inculcate patriotic love in the students. A Map reading activity cm quiz was arranged by the Department of Geography and the Department of Pakistan Studies, in which the students took part with great keenness.
The students will also keep on displaying their love for Pakistan by decorating a Wall of Love with beautiful cards and messages throughout the month of August.
On the day of Flag Hoisting Ceremony, the campus was transformed into a vibrant sea of green and white as students, faculty members, and administrative staff gathered in the college to commemorate Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and fervour.
The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by the Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh. The entire college resonated with patriotic chants and applause as the flag flew in the free skies of Pakistan.
The respected principal, faculty and the students attended an event in the auditorium to celebrate the fortuitous occasion, where the stage was tastefully decorated by the Department of Art, Model drawing and Fine Arts.
The stage secretary paid tribute to the grit and valour of the Pakistani nation especially on the momentous occasion of Mecca Joint Defence Agreement.
The programme featured an exciting range of activities, including patriotic speeches, national songs and poetry recitations. The musical performance on "Dil Se Maine Dekha Pakistan" by Raima Zahoor and Abeera electrified the atmosphere in the hall. Saleha Zafar presented the song "Hum Pakistan Hain" with the audience joining in enthusiastically. Ayesha Arshad and group waved the Pakistani flags proudly as they sang "Yeh Watan Tumhara Hai". Aruba Asghar presented a melodic version of "Chadhta Suraj hai Apna Pakistan".
Momina Arshad delivered a passionate speech, highlighting Pakistan’s history, achievements, challenges and promising future.
Ms. Qurat ul Ain Rehan ( Department of Islamic Studies) spoke eloquently about the significance of our Pakistani identity.

The Chief Guest, Principal Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, in a powerful address, shed light on the purpose of the creation of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Pakistan was founded for the sake of following Allah's word freely and safeguarding the sanctity of Muslims and other minorities. She urged the attendees to wake up from deep slumber, submit to Allah's Law, realize our potential and work for the progress of our nation. She concluded her address with Iqbal's verse:
کی محمد سے وفا تو نے تو ہم تيرے ہيں
يہ جہاں چيز ہے کيا، لوح و قلم تيرے ہيں
Overall, the Independence Day celebrations were a memorable and inspiring event. It successfully combined national pride with a meaningful message of responsibility and hope.

A Great Achievement Unlocked
Hifsa Rauf Abbasi, from second year, had the honour of having her artwork included among the top 10 paintings from all over Pakistan in Kashmir Painting Competition 2026. The competition was organised by Youth Forum for Kashmir in collaboration with IHEAD F-11/1 on Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir. Hifsa's painting encompassed the plight of the kashmiris in a poignant manner and evoked a strong reaction among the onlookers. The college extends its felicitations to the high achiever and her mentors.

Revised Schedule for HSSC-I admission 2026

Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir is observed annually on 5th August to mark the revocation of Article 370 by India in 2019 regarding the special status of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The day is observed in Pakistan to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir and to raise awareness of Pakistan's position on the issue.
A morning assembly was held in the college auditorium to observe Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir. Students and teachers were in attendance to show their support to the people of Kashmir. The assembly began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat (s.a.w.w) followed by the national anthem.
The stage secretary spoke about the historical background of Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir and emphasized the importance of peace, justice, and respect for human rights. Momina Arshad recited some poetic verses; calling for action on part of Muslims to free the subjugated. A documentary highlighting the plight of Kashmiris under Indian occupation was shown to the attendees. Bisma and group presented a song to express their love for Kashmir.
The Principal, Prof. Dr. Fauzia Tanveer Sheikh, addressed the students and highlighted the significance of the day. She encouraged the need for unity among the Muslim Ummah and to strengthen our Muslim identity. She stressed upon waging jihad against our personal vices and the enemies of Islam.
A special prayer was offered by Ms. Qurat ul Ain Rehan (Dept. of Islamic Studies) for peace, stability, and well-being of the Ummah especially the people of Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The assembly concluded with a renewed commitment to promoting awareness, unity, and hope for a peaceful future.
