FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with Techno Lab, a co-working space led and run by recent FAST NUCES graduates.

Through this collaboration, Techno Lab will provide discounted access to team rooms, huddle rooms, and individual workspaces to FAST NUCES alumni and current students who are running startups.

Congratulations, Dr. Sana!
Heartiest congratulations to Ms. Sana Saleh on the successful defense of her PhD thesis, titled “Edge Intelligence for Next-Generation Intelligent Transportation Systems,” under the supervision of Prof. Muhammad Tariq, Head of the School of Engineering, FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus.

What makes this achievement particularly remarkable is the quality and impact of the research produced during her PhD, completed in three years. Her work has resulted in publications in three prestigious Q1 journals of IEEE, including:

The Smart Technologies and Applied Intelligence Research (STAIR) Lab, FAST School of Engineering, successfully organized the International Workshop on Communication and Emerging Technologies under the NATO Science for Peace and Security (SPS) Programme at the FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus on August 21, 2026.

The event was honored by the presence of H.E. Dr. Irfan Neziroğlu, Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan, as the Chief Guest. We were also privileged to welcome Ambassador Nafees Zakaria, Executive Director, COMSATS, and Prof. Dr. Iqbal Choudhary, Director General, COMSTECH, along with Prof. Aftab Ahmad Maroof, Rector of FAST-NUCES, and Prof. Waseem Shahzad, Campus Director.

The workshop commenced with welcome remarks and a technical overview by Prof. Muhammad Tariq, Director, STAIR Lab, who highlighted the significance of emerging technologies and their role in shaping the future of secure and intelligent systems. He also presented the key milestones and achievements of the ongoing NATO SPS-funded Secure-ISAC project, in which he serves as the Partner Country Project Director (PPD).

The workshop featured insightful sessions by distinguished academics and technology experts, including Prof. Hüseyin Arslan (NPD), Prof. Orkun Hasekioğlu (Advisor to the President, TÜBİTAK), Prof. Yasar Ayaz (Chairman, NCAI, NUST), and Dr. Muhammad Sohaib Solaja (Gebze Technical University). The speakers shared valuable insights into wireless communications, artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, robotics, cybersecurity, and other next-generation technologies.

We sincerely thank our honorable guests, distinguished speakers, faculty members, organizers, and students for making the workshop informative, engaging, and successful. The event provided a valuable platform for strengthening international academic collaboration, fostering knowledge exchange, and advancing research and innovation in emerging technologies.

The Department of Science and Humanities, FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Education Foundation (NEF), Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training.

This collaboration will provide students enrolled in the Civic Responsibility and Community Engagement course with valuable opportunities to gain practical experience through community fieldwork. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world community engagement by enabling students to actively participate in initiatives that address social needs.

Through this field experience, students will learn how young people can play a meaningful role in society by contributing their time, skills, and efforts towards community development and social well-being. The program will also encourage students to understand the challenges faced by underserved communities and explore ways to contribute towards improving their quality of life.

The MoU reflects FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus' commitment to developing socially responsible, empathetic, and engaged young individuals who can make a positive and sustainable contribution to society.

The National Education Foundation (NEF), Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, awarded internship certificates to Batch 2023 students of the School of Engineering and School of Computing, FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus, in recognition of their successful completion of their mandatory degree internships.

During their internship, students worked on a variety of projects relevant to their respective academic disciplines, allowing them to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical settings and gain valuable exposure to professional work environments.

The internship experience provided students with opportunities to strengthen their technical, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills while contributing to meaningful projects and gaining a better understanding of real-world professional challenges.

The AI Diagnostic Lab (AID Lab), FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus, successfully concluded its Summer Internship Program 2026 with an Internship Completion Certificate Distribution Ceremony held today at FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus.

The six-week internship provided students with hands-on exposure to AI for Medical Diagnostics and emerging technologies across:
Computer Vision
Robotics & 3D Vision
IoT Devices & Sensors for Medical Applications
AI for Medical Diagnostics

The internship was designed to provide students with practical research experience, exposure to real-world projects, and an opportunity to learn from experts working in AI and healthcare technologies.

The completion certificates were distributed by the Director, FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus, recognizing the successful completion and dedication of the interns.

A successful AI DLC Workshop was held at FAST-NUCES Islamabad Campus, featuring a hands-on and practical session delivered by DPL.

The FAST NUCES Islamabad Campus, Artificial Intelligence Diagnostics Lab, marked the successful completion of its internship program led by Dr. Muhammad Nouman Noor with a closing ceremony that celebrated the interns’ learning and achievements in Artificial Intelligent Diagnostics, research, and innovation.

Director of Campus Dr. Waseem Shahzad appreciated the initiative, and Dr. Hasan Mujtaba, Dr. Ahmad Din, and other faculty members graced the event with the presence and interacted with the interns.
