Isamabad Campus which was established in 1998 is the mother campus of the University Lahore (UOL) and is being served by a fully developed infra-structure for Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, Pharmacy, Management Sciences and Allied Health Sciences. Both for technical and professional disciplines dedicated and competent faculty delivers the curriculum.
The University of Lahore is the largest private sector university in Pakistan with more than 35,000 students and 7 campuses. The University was established in 1999 and has since then been offering courses in the fields of Medicine & Dentistry, Engineering, Arts, Sciences and Social Sciences. With strong emphasis on balanced progress and focus on human capital, the University has grown to 11 faculties and 35 departments.
The quality of the teaching facility and research excellence has also earned its international recognition, placing the university amongst the top 6 first Pakistani Universities to be ranked in the 2012 QS Asia Ranking. UOL MISSION
The University of Lahore is a private sector university, established by Ibadat Education Trust and operates under the charter granted by the Government of the Punjab in 2002. The mission of the university is to impart education and training to the youth of the country in an academic environment through comprehensive and up to date teaching and research facilities.
The primary mission of the university is to inculcate such critical abilities, wisdom and values which are necessary for the making of a forward looking, coherent civil society. It also seeks to prepare a mindset imbued with Islamic ethos and positive social norms without prejudice to the authenticity of any other religion. The Trust has mandated this university to offer equal opportunity to students from all strata of society without any distinction of cast, color and creed.
The efforts of the university to promote demand led subjects for the purpose of preparing a productive manpower which could participate in the economic development of the country. INFRASTRUCTURE
The University of Lahore started its operation at Islamabad from a Campus at Blue Area. To achieve the vision, UOL has created its new purpose built educational faculty called New Campus (Sihala). New Campus has purpose-built class rooms and laboratories for all disciplines of Engineering, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy and Medical Laboratory Sciences. At the Campus site, Hostel for 400 students, Gymnasium and Cafeteria is under construction.
STUDENTS SERVICES
Transport
Islamabad Campus is maintaining a large fleet of modern buses to provide pick & drop facility, to student and those faculty members who are not maintaining their personal cars or motor-bikes. The transport facility also provided to hostel residents. A micro-bus/coaster was also purchased for the faculty members. Transport between the campuses is available to the students as a regular feature.
Hostel Facility
Boarding and lodging facility for both the campuses is available at the hostels managed and administered by the University at Islamabad.
IT Services
State of the art IT Labs at both the campuses are being marinated with internet facility.
Library
Professional library staff is managing the libraries. The libraries contain more than 20,000 books covering all disciplines. In addition, the libraries are maintaining book banks for use of the students on all subjects being covered by the university. In addition an access to HEC Digital library is also available at both the Campuses.
SPORTS AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Besides good academic education, Sports and recreational activities are essential to develop o healthy and creative mind. Students are provided ample opportunities and facilities for Sports, recreation and other social and intellectual pursuits.
Debates
To encourage and train students in communication skills, rational, logical and critical thinking, regular debate competition under the supervision of external Judges are held.
Study Tours
To provide an opportunity to students to observe the functioning and operation of Industrial Units of their relevant fields, outstation Study Tours are arranged by the University. This immensely helps the students of Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering and Management Sciences. The Visits of Pharmacy students are arranged to the site of Pharmaceutical Companies and remote areas of Murree and surrounding for study and collection of plants and herbs. Students of Physical Therapy regularly visit medical colleges and Physical Therapy Centres of Hospitals.
SOCIAL FUNCTIONS
Regular Social Functions are arranged to provide an opportunity of recreation and social interaction to students. Special functions are arranged to welcome fresh students and bid farewell to the graduating students.
