World Environment day 2024

The world environment day was celebrated at Quaid in Azam University Islamabad jointly organised by Green Youth Movement club and Quaidian Environmental Society. It was great to see the large active participation of young students . Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmad Vice Chancellor the chief guest of the event, highlighted the importance of the day and appreciated the organizers for arranging wonderful event. It was delightful to see the different activities/competitions. Prof. Dr. M. Ishtiaq Ali Director ORIC/Academics highlighted the importance of better environment and to be part of solution to improve the environment health and society, because the better environment could lead to better health, better community and better nation and youth is key for this change.
Prof. Dr Abida Farooqi, Chairperson Dept. of Environmental Sciences emphasized reducing environmental pollution and healing mother nature by our active participation.

QES will be arranging an official one day departmental trip to Toli Peer Rawalakot AJK on saturday, March 9th. Along with buses, a one-time meal will also be provided. Ticket charges are 1200rs per person. The last date to get registered is 6th march 2024. Brace yourself for a day of adventure, and do not miss this chance. CHIP and Sightsavers strategic partnership is built for the “Futuremakers” project focuses on employment, including waged and self-employment, for youth with disabilities in Pakistan. In this regard, a career development opportunity is announced for employment readiness and self-confidence building of job seekers with disabilities from across Pakistan.

We hope this message finds you all in good health and high spirits. As you all know, World Environment Day is just around the corner, and it is an opportunity for us to come together as the Environmental Sciences department and make our event a resounding success.

During the event, classes will continue as per the schedule. However, we encourage all students and faculty members to actively participate in the World Environment Day activities organized by our department. The event aims to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable practices.

To ensure attendance and participation, respective teachers will be present to mark attendance during the event. It is essential for everyone to be present and actively engage in the activities planned for the day. Let us show our commitment to environmental conservation and make a positive impact.
