Educational Assessment in Pakistan Educational Assessment; formative, summative and Large-Scale These studies paved the way for establishment of National Education Assessment System (NEAS).

In Pakistan, such large scale assessment started with the study that was conducted under the World Bank’s Primary Education Project in 1984. Another learning assessment study was conducted under the BRIDGES Project of the Harvard Institute of International Development in 1988-89. During 2002, UNESCO, in collaboration with Curriculum Wing of Ministry of Education supported a large scale assessment study.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has made significant strides to improve the infrastructure of schools in the last five years, however, it still lags behind in providing quality education.

According to the National Assessment Test Report 2016, KP has the lowest average score in 4th grade maths as compared to other provinces. KP Education minister Atif Khan also recognised this concern and has committed that the government will now focus on improving the quality of education.
