*ORIC–MUET Recruitment Drive Announcement*

The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, successfully organized a recruitment drive in collaboration with PMLTC (Pak Matiyari Lahore Transmission Company).

The event witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 200 students from the Electrical Engineering Department participating from both the Main Campus, MUET Jamshoro, and the SZAB Campus Khairpur.

These competitive grants reflect MUET’s strong commitment towards impactful research, innovation, technological advancement, and academia-industry collaboration addressing real-world challenges of society and sustainable development.

Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Explores Strategic Collaboration with Pakistan Machine Tool Factory.
A high-level meeting was held at the Vice Chancellor Secretariat of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology to explore avenues of academic, technical, and industrial collaboration with Pakistan Machine Tool Factory (PMTF).
The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali, Vice Chancellor MUET. The visiting delegation from PMTF included Mr. Zaheer Ahmed Ghangro, Managing Director PMTF, and Engr. Ghulam Raza Jafary, Principal PMTF Skill Development Institute (PSDI). From MUET side, Deans of various faculties, Director ORIC, and Heads of different academic departments participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, both institutions discussed the formulation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in areas including industrial internships, product development, technical trainings, career counseling seminars, research and innovation activities, and techno commercial collaborations.
It was further agreed to establish a joint working group for future alignments, coordination, and implementation of collaborative initiatives between MUET and PMTF.
The Vice Chancellor appreciated the visit of the distinguished guests and emphasized the importance of academia industry linkages for technological advancement, skill development, and employability enhancement.
At the conclusion of the meeting, MUET souvenirs were presented to the honorable guests as a gesture of goodwill and institutional partnership.

The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), MUET Jamshoro successfully hosted a recruitment drive in collaboration with Cybernet Pakistan for students from the Departments of Telecommunication, Software, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Systems, and Computer & Information Engineering.
More than 100 students enthusiastically participated in the interviews, which were conducted in a highly professional and conducive environment. The recruitment activity provided students with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with industry professionals and explore potential career pathways in the technology and telecommunications sector.
The recruitment team from Cybernet Pakistan was led by Mr. Moazzam, accompanied by Mr. Saad Hassan (HRBP), along with senior officials and technical panelists including Mr. Amjad Iqbal, Manager Software Engineering; Mr. Ahsan Hameed, Manager Software Engineering; and Mr. Muhammad Azeem, Manager Services. The team conducted on-the-spot interviews and evaluations of shortlisted candidates.
The session concluded with remarks by Dr. Sheeraz Ahmed Memon, Director ORIC, who appreciated the efforts of Cybernet Pakistan for providing employment opportunities to MUET students and highlighted the significance of strengthening academia-industry linkages for professional growth, innovation, and future collaboration.
This was followed by a shield distribution ceremony, where commemorative shields were presented to the Cybernet Pakistan recruitment team, including Mr. Moazzam and his team members, as a token of appreciation for their visit, professional engagement, and continued collaboration with MUET Jamshoro. A thoughtful and engaging first session of our faculty development workshop was conducted yesterday (May 6, 2026) with the dedicated faculty members of the Department of Textile Engineering at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology.
Rather than a traditional instructional seminar, this session served as a space for genuine reflection. We explored the evolving dynamics of the modern classroom, focusing on deep student engagement and the shifting expectations of today’s learners. A key highlight was our discussion on how to meaningfully integrate AI-assisted learning and gamification into engineering education—all while preserving the core values of teaching and mentorship.
What made this experience truly valuable was the openness of our colleagues. The room was filled with shared experiences, challenges, and innovative ideas from unique teaching journeys. It was a collaborative effort toward continuous improvement, where learning was mutual and reflective.
I had the opportunity to facilitate this session, and I am incredibly grateful for the collaborative spirit shown by the Textile Engineering department.
