Prof. Dr. Yasir Nawab, Vice Chancellor, University of Kamalia served as the Resource Person at the opening session of a four-day training programme on “Strategic Planning for Institutional Growth and Excellence” at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) on August24, 2026.The session focused on “Transforming Research into Societal Impact,” highlighting the importance of translating academic research into practical solutions for society and strengthening the role of universities in innovation, development and societal progress.
The training programme has been organized by the Faculty Development Centre, Directorate of Faculty Development & Internationalisation (DFDI), LCWU, for HODs, Deans and Directors, with a focus on leadership development, institutional excellence and capacity building of academic leaders.

🌱 Advancing Sustainability & Food Security at the University of Kamalia

The University of Kamalia has taken another meaningful step towards a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future by signing an MoU with Mr. Khizar Wali Chishti to promote kitchen gardening, organic food production, environmental conservation, and sustainable development.

Under the visionary leadership of Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Yasir Nawab, the initiative reflects the University's strong commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2: Zero Hunger and SDG 13: Climate Action.

Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of food security, organic food, kitchen gardening, and environmental sustainability. He encouraged students to actively engage in practical initiatives that can contribute to healthier lifestyles, food security, and a cleaner environment.

🌳 As part of the activity, nearly 200 saplings were planted on the University campus. In addition, Mr. Khizar Wali Chishti delivered an informative session on kitchen gardening, attended by around 50 students, faculty members, and members of the University's Environmental Society.

The event was attended by Dr. Neelam Iftikhar, Dr. Laraib Kiran, and Mr. Muhammad Yahya along with students and members of the Environmental Society.

The activity was coordinated by Directorate of ORIC, reflecting the University's efforts to translate its sustainability vision into meaningful action.

University of Kamalia hosted a soulful Naatiya Mushayra, bringing together renowned personalities, distinguished Naat reciters, and celebrated writers from across Pakistan. Their heartfelt recitations and beautiful expressions of love for the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ touched the hearts of the audience and created an atmosphere filled with devotion, peace, and love for the Prophet ﷺ.

It was a truly inspiring and spiritually uplifting gathering that beautifully reflected the timeless bond of the Muslim Ummah with the beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. ❤️
