Commemoration of 75 Years of Diplomatic Relations Between Pakistan and China

Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS), in accordance with the directives of the Government of Sindh, commemorated the 75th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Pakistan and China through a gathering held at Dow University of Health Sciences.

The event brought together DUHS leadership, faculty members, staff, students, and alumni to celebrate the enduring friendship, mutual cooperation, and strong bilateral ties shared between the two nations. The ceremony featured the raising of the national flags of Pakistan and China, symbolizing unity, respect, and the longstanding diplomatic partnership between the two countries.

Under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazli Hossain, DUHS reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening academic, healthcare, and research collaborations with China. She emphasized that the friendship between Pakistan and China has always stood as a symbol of trust, mutual respect, and shared progress, and expressed hope that this bond will continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.

Cheque Presentation Ceremony for Healthcare and Community Welfare Support

Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) hosted a distinguished delegation from United Bank Limited (UBL) as part of a meaningful engagement focused on community welfare, healthcare support, and social impact initiatives.

The visiting UBL delegation included Mr. Sohail Musarrat Siddiqui, Group Head Karachi; Mr. Asim Ali Mughal, GM Operations Karachi; Mr. Ghulam Hussain, Regional Operations Head – Old City Area; Mr. Saad Saleem, GM Old City Area; Mr. Farhan Ali Khan, GM Gulshan-e-Iqbal; Mr. Muhammad Zakaria, Branch Manager Baba-e-Urdu Road Branch; Mr. Adeel Ahmed, Branch Operations Manager Baba-e-Urdu Road Branch; and Mr. Muhammad Ovais Rafiq, Trade Relationship Manager.

The DUHS representatives included Mr. Syed Zain ul Abdin Shah, Director Finance; Mr. Hamid Ali Shah, General Manager Finance; Mr. Dev Anand Parshad, Director Internal Audit; Mr. Syed Mazhar Ali Kazmi, Additional Director Finance; Mr. Muhammad Farid Amin, Manager Finance – Treasury; and Mr. Umair Zafar, Manager Alumni, Marketing, and Communications.

As a significant gesture of support towards healthcare and community welfare, UBL contributed Rs. 20 million (Rs. 20,000,000) to support patient care, humanitarian initiatives, and welfare activities aimed at serving underprivileged communities through DUHS.

This collaboration reflects a shared vision of social responsibility, compassionate healthcare, and sustainable community development, further reinforcing the commitment of both institutions towards public welfare, improving lives, and expanding access to quality healthcare services.

Dow University of Health Sciences successfully organized a dialogue session on “Interfaith Harmony & Social Domino” on Saturday, 16 May 2026, at the ARAG Auditorium, Dow Medical College, DUHS.

The session was graced by the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazli Hossain, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Sajida Qureshi, Principal Dow Medical College Prof. Saba Sohail, Principal Dow International Medical College Prof. Uzma Bukhari, Principal Dow Dental College Prof. Naresh Kumar, distinguished faculty members, and esteemed guests. The event was moderated by Prof. Yahya Noori.

The dialogue provided a meaningful platform to promote peace, mutual respect, inclusivity, and unity among diverse communities, reaffirming the belief that “Unity in diversity is the strength of every progressive society.”

Insightful perspectives were shared by renowned speakers Prof. K. S. Nagpal, Retired Principal, M.A. English, LL.B, Fr. The Department of Hematology, DIEKIBD, DUHS, successfully organized a comprehensive Hematology and Coagulation Workshop for FCPS candidates on 9th May 2026. The workshop
provided an interactive academic platform focused on case-based learning, diagnostic interpretation, and practical approaches to hematological and coagulation disorders. Through engaging presentations and discussions of challenging clinical cases, participants were encouraged to strengthen their Diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.

The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Almas Khan and Dr. Sehrish Khurshid, who led insightful sessions designed to enhance the understanding of bone marrow morphology, coagulation interpretation, and evidence-based clinical practice. The academic activity was conducted under the leadership of Section Head Dr. Saima Minhas and Joint Section Head Dr. Kashif Hafeez Sheikh, whose support and guidance contributed to the successful ex*****on of the event.

The program concluded with remarks by the Course Director, Prof. Dr. Uzma Bukhari who appreciated the active participation of the FCPS trainees and emphasized the importance of continuous academic learning and collaborative discussion in advancing hematology training.
