Following the inundating floods in Sindh, numerous villages found themselves in dire straits. In a collaborative effort with The Heritage Foundation and Intbau, these villages received essential infrastructure support. The sheer magnitude of the 2022 Flood necessitated a fundamental shift in the culture of charitable giving.
This assistance was grounded in the guiding principles of Barefoot Social Architecture, which The Heritage Foundation of Pakistan has extensively employed in recent projects.
Hampton School embarked on a sustained initiative aimed at delivering education to a rural community. The Pono village school's educators underwent training under the guidance of Mrs Humaira Javed at Hampton School
The teachers trained at Hampton, along with an aide are now shouldering the responsibility of 6 schools, each having 90 to 150 students. Around a 1000 plus.
Heritage foundation is helping bring a school in reach of all children who never ever thought of going to a school.
Furthermore, families in these communities received trainings in skills like pottery, sustainable gardening, fish farming etc and adopting sustainable lifestyles.
Teachers trained at Hampton were duly honoured with a training completion certificate ceremony.
This remarkable endeavor stands as a rare example of nurturing a self-reliant community.
In a heartwarming display of solidarity, our students united to assemble care packages destined for their peers in Pono Village, Sindh. The distribution of these packages at the school was overseen by personally by Ms Humera Javed and Ms Farheen Faruqui . Stuff was also left behind for the students who couldn’t attend the ceremony with Mr Naheem of Heritage Foundation.
Each package bore a message of gratitude. This initiative underscores the immense potential of schools in spearheading efforts to ameliorate living conditions in neighboring villages and raising the educational standards of nearby primary schools.
