We believe in the concept of a middle school as a transition period between elementary school and high school. It is a developmental period in which students refine skills and accept more responsibility for themselves and their actions within their total environment. Therefore, the middle school will offer students a solid program of basic academic courses an
d a range of co-curricular and social activities. In addition, we will be sensitive to the physical, emotional, and intellectual changes that occur in early adolescent children and will accommodate the needs of the students at these stages of development. We will not discriminate in our educational programs or policies on the basis of race, religion or physical ability. We further believe that success for individual students as well as for the total program can be accomplished best in an atmosphere of mutual respect, acceptance of regulations, tolerance for individual differences, encouragement of ideas, and cooperation between the school and home.
