Introducing Talha Khusro, the Vice President for STEM!

A man who knows no bounds (𝚎̶𝚡̶𝚌̶𝚎̶𝚙̶𝚝̶ ̶𝚏̶𝚘̶𝚛̶ ̶𝚑̶𝚒̶𝚜̶ ̶𝚑̶𝚎̶𝚒̶𝚐̶𝚑̶𝚝̶), a man who wants to achieve everything, a man who is capable of achieving everything. Talha Khusro Ghaus, from his first interview for Epsilon, when he not only ticked the boxes for all the modules (just because they seemed interesting to him) but also brought thought-provoking ideas for all of them, has proven to be an enigma. His relationship with STEM was love at first sight, and he has proven it at every occasion:
Prioritized it over his studies? Check (clutched up last moment to get straight As tho).
Stayed at college for nights on end? Check.
Ready to sacrifice his life for it? Check.
Anyone who knows Talha knows that he is the life of the party, he strikes the perfect balance between getting the work done a and helping the team have a blast after that. He is a man of the people, you’ll see him dapping up at least 5 different people in a casual stroll through the college. He knows how to enjoy the good moments in life, and also turn up the bad ones (minus his temporary ehm era in between).
He does all of this, alongside being a part of almost every event at Alpha. He was the cohead of one of the biggest modules, Area 51, in Epsilon IV and made it the best one, which is one of the main reasons he joined STEM this year. His innovative ideas and passion for the society make him a great fit for the EB, and we have no doubt he will be at the forefront of an amazing year for STEM.

Introducing the mind that was crafted to lead the best society at Alpha, Our Very Own President Sahab, Abdul Wasay!

Someone who stood out so much by his hard work and unique flair, just from his first year that both the STEM EB and the Dirus Captain were fighting over who gets to keep him for the next year. Wasay is one of the most versatile and smart people at Alpha (This can be seen by his decision to choose STEM over Dirus). Some point out that Wasay is a commerce student, but that is nothing but a testament to his glory. When the science students couldn’t cope, we knew, we had to bring in the big guns. A glory he has proven by having 3 As in AS even after all those extra-curriculars (would have been 4 if the college was offering further maths.) Wasay is the kind of individual that you only ever have the pleasure of interacting with, once in your lifetime. The passion in his eyes when he strives for something, the restlessness till he achieves it, both for STEM and Epsilon. Those reasons exactly, make him the perfect fit for this rank (~also he’s an archer with perfect aim who threatened us~).
Wasay is someone who sees and brings out the potential in people that they might not even see in themselves, so a word of advice: never ask him to pull a parchi. If it ever slips your tongue, run really fast because his arrow would probably be faster. If you’re someone who has made it as his friend, consider yourself lucky: you get firsthand rights on his great food recs (our prezzi gets a job well- done but he likes his steak medium rare) and a snippet into his mind which has never engaged in a boring conversation.
In short, we love our president, his goofy smile, his ability to bring a smile to anyone’s face, and his ability to pull all-nighters for his work without getting tired, and his ability to manage hundreds of registrations at once, and his ability to somehow do everything perfectly? (i think I’ll stop or else this caption will never end).

Finally, presenting the President of the STEM Society of Alpha College 2024-2025, Abdul Wasay!

Introducing Najah Rashid, the General Secretary for STEM!

Najah’s STEM journey is one that makes us believe the society was formed so that one day she could head it. Najah is someone who sets a goal and doesn’t settle until she accomplishes it. She set her eye on the society the first time she saw them in action, in Epsilon’s third edition. From that day, her mind, that’d put Lorelai Gilmore’s to shame, got to work, cooking up ideas for her very own STEM tenure.
She laid down the groundwork by joining the STEM core team in her first year, as well as being a part of multiple modules in Epsilon IV. Her brilliance made her the clear choice to head the largest module of Epsilon- Area 51!
Setting aside her commendable work ethic that we dream to have, Najah also possesses the personality that we wish to steal. She’s got that sweet, infectious vibe- a literal ball of energy with a passion that never quits.
Najah’s the type of person who, if you dare ask “differentiation zindagi mein kahan kaam ayegi?” will give you a TED Talk so long, you’ll start regretting your life decisions leading up to that moment. Whenever she talks, it is basically an ode: either in code or rhymes, as if auditioning for a reboot of The Dead Poets Society.
Najah’s someone that makes sure everyone in the room feels included, which makes us feel the luckiest to be under her lead. We would gladly stand in line, if we had to, to have a discussion with her about how science is art, and art is science.
When she’s not passionately defending STEM’s role in society, she’s probably sipping on coffee so strong, that it could be banned in 12 countries, or trying to explain her eternal brainchild, Zindagi Aur Hum.

Presenting the one and only, Najah Rashid, General Secretary for STEM 2024-25, the one destined for this position!

Introducing our vice-president, Umer Zain! Umer is a highly skilled person, with an unmatched natural aptitude for both science and business. Being known as one of the most knowledgeable programmers in college, Umer has made his way to the pinnacle of his interests. What more could we ask for?

Umer's journey with programming started in his childhood when he became intrigued by how games were actually developed. This took him into the realm of coding, and here, he soared so high that in his very first year in college, he became the lead backend developer for the STEM Society and IT head for Epsilon III. And today, we're proud to say that our vice president is a sophisticated full-stack developer!

Umer's talents don't end there though. His other interests include mechanics and electronics, and that's why he can always be found in the ARK Lab during his free time. Along with that, his distinctive humour keeps the whole team joyous and intact. With such a diverse set of skills, the sky is undoubtedly the limit for Umer!

Adorned with his dimpled laughter, here comes the president of STEM, Abdur Rafay Kashif, truly a person who was made to lead STEM this year to new heights of glory.

Fear not, Rafay is a passionate, determined, and ambitious person to work with (one of his ambitions being randomly bursting out in a particular Punjabi song). Stem was always the love of his life (he has ample experience freeloading KFC from the previous STEM EBs' money, that's why) but before that, comes Lionel Messi. Yes, if you ever want to find him in the college; He would probably be seen playing football or fangirling over the GOAT (though debatable, but that's just what Rafay thinks) somewhere on the bleachers with his friends. Probably the most relatable person on the core team with his love for food and all things fun, he ensures not a single moment goes to waste around him.

Rafay, being the Head Boy in fifth grade (*sighs*) and the Dirus Vice Captain last year, exhibits an unparalleled sense of responsibility and professionalism that he's able to balance with his obsessions (especially football; spends hours on thrift sites searching for the perfect pair of shoes).

Speaking of perfect, Rafay is an utmost perfectionist who strives to bring out the best in people and himself, which is why he is in STEM (definitely won't do the same as he did with AS Math last year; failed the entire year, got a zero at his first monthlies and cried about it, then _proceeded to get an A in his CIEs???_), to make this year utterly sublime and exciting!

Introducing Chaudhry Saahib, one of the three members of the STEM Society EB!

Jaweria is probably one of the most versatile people in college; she plays basketball (read: pakram pakraayi), she gardens in her free time, she teaches students, she loves reading, and has definitely watched every single sitcom you can name. To top it all off, she's great at academics too! She doesn't like mentioning it (she thinks it'll make her look like a nerd, which is exactly what she is) but she had 5 As in AS! Unsurprisingly, she's also a coffee addict, and consumes dangerously high amounts of caffeine everyday.

Apart from all that, Jaweria likes to enjoy the good things in life (even if that involves breaking her chin!). She loves going out with her friends and feels most at home with them. That doesn't mean she can give good food recommendations though (she called KFC's Mighty mid!!)

In spite of this ridiculously hectic schedule, Jaweria still makes time for ECAs and has a lot of experience in event management. As Deputy Head (aka melon girl) in AS, she helped organize nearly all the events last year. She was the cohead of Cerebral Labyrinth in Epsilon III and fell in love with it, which is one of the main reasons she joined STEM this year. Her innovative ideas and passion for the society make her a great fit for the EB, and we have no doubt she will be at the forefront of an amazing year for STEM.
