LSL is proud to share the publication of two significant research studies contributed by Zainab Akram, a final-year law student at Lahore School of Law.

The publications, produced during her research work with the Women in Law Initiative Pakistan, focus on critical issues surrounding workplace harassment, access to justice, and the effectiveness of existing legal frameworks.

“Beyond the Complaint: Is Pakistan’s Workplace Harassment Framework Delivering Justice?” examines the time taken to resolve workplace harassment cases before courts and Ombudsperson forums, providing an empirical perspective on timeliness, case disposal, and access to justice.

“A Comparison of Protection Against Workplace Harassment Laws of India and Pakistan” offers a comparative analysis of the two legal frameworks, identifying gaps and challenges while exploring potential lessons and recommendations for legal reform.

These publications demonstrate the value of empirical and comparative legal research in evaluating the effectiveness of law and contributing to meaningful legal reform.

We congratulate Zainab on this noteworthy academic achievement and are proud to see our students contributing to important legal scholarship and contemporary discourse on workplace justice and women’s rights.

Lahore School of Law (LSL) proudly celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day 2026 with great enthusiasm under the inspiring theme, “Freedom, Unity and Responsibility: Celebrating the Spirit of Pakistan.”

The event brought together distinguished legal luminaries and esteemed guests, including Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan, Justice (r) Erum Sajjad Gull, Justice (r) Ali Akbar Qureshi, Mr. Owais Shah, Senior Political Advisor, British High Commission, Mr. Sohaib Ahmed Rumi (Additional District & Sessions Judge, Retd.), and Mr. Haroon Latif (District & Sessions Judge, Retd. / Former DG Legal Pakistan Railway).

The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the National Anthem, followed by a powerful documentary, “Pakistan: The Journey to Independence.” This was followed by a vibrant National Heroes Parade, where LSL students brought the nation’s iconic leaders to life, portraying Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Fatima Jinnah, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, Liaquat Ali Khan, Begum Ra’ana Liaquat Ali Khan, Allama Iqbal, and Jogendra Nath Mandal.

He also captivated the audience by reciting verses from his iconic poem “Kal, Aaj Aur Kal,” reflecting on dreams of a just, equitable, and hopeful Pakistan:

“Aik Nai Dunya Kay Fasanay,
Aik Nai Dunya Kay Taranay…”

“Adl Hoa To Des Hamara,
Kabhi Bhi Chakna Choor Na Hoga.”

“Jeet Hamara Mustaqbil Hai.”
