Punjab University tops All Pakistan University Sports Ranking Ranking with 18 points, UCP 2nd with 10 points, LCWU, UoL and Superior 3rd with 8 points each while LGU 4th with 6 points and UMT 5th with 02 points.
The ranking has been released recently based on HEC General Trophy Awards. PU has also won Rs 1.8 million cash award for securing top position in Women and 2nd position in Men category.
Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali has congratulated Director Sports Dr Shabbir Sarwar and whole Directorate of Sports comprising team managers, team coaches, support staff and PU athletes.
The General Trophies and cash awards worth Rs 6 million were awarded to top 5 varsities in Men and Women category by HEC chairman Dr Niaz Ahmad and PU Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali at a well attended ceremony held at Punjab University.
The PU Al Raazi Hall stage was adorned with distinguished guests:

HEC Men General Trophy
5th position won by the University of Management and Technology
( awards and trophy was received by Syed Ali Mukhtar, Director Student Affairs
And Ali Raza, Incharge Sports UMT along with 6 distinguished male players. They were honored with general trophy and cash awards Rs 2 hundred thousands)
4th position
trophy along with Rs 400,000 cash awards won by the University of Lahore
( UoL Incharge Sports Mr Muhammad Aqeel Rana received the trophy along with 6 distinguished male players)
The 3rd position trophy with cash awards of Rs 600,000 won by The Superior University Lahore
( trophy and cash awards received by Rector Dr Nizam ud Din and Director Sports Mr Shahid Faqeer Khan along with 6 sportsmen)
2nd Position With cash award of Rs 800, 000 claimed by Punjab University in men’s category.

1st position
trophy and cash awards Rs one million cliched by University of the Central Punjab. Mr Sohail Afzal, UCP prorector Mr Dr Hammad Naveed alingwith Director Sports Mr Arshad Sattar and 6 male athletes received the trophy.
Big applause was witnessed in the Hall.
HEC General Trophy and Cash Awards (Women category)
The 5th position Trophy and cash awards of Rs 200000 won by
The Superior University, Lahore. The trophy and cash awards was received by Rector Dr Nizam ud Din and Director Sports Mr Shahid Faqeer Khan along with 6 female athletes )
The 4th position trophy along with Rs 400,000 cash awards went to
University of Lahore.
The UoL Incharge Sports Mr Muhammad Aqeel Rana received the trophy along with 6 distinguished male players.
The 3rd position
Was claimed by the Lahore Garrison University along with cash award of Rs 600,000. The award and trophy was received by LGU VC Maj-Gen Muhammad Khalil Dar along with Director Sports Col (r) Murtaza, Mr Sajjad and 6 distinguished female athletes from LGU.
The 2nd position trophy and cash of Rs 800000 won by the Lahore College for Women University
The award was received by Director Sports Dr Sumeera Sattar along with 6 distinguished female athletes.
The 1st position
In women category claimed by the University of the Punjab.
PU Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali along with Director Sports Dr Shabbir Sarwar. Additional director Mrs Tahira Saleem, deputy directors and assistant directors and 6 female athletes received l the trophy and cash award of Rs one million. The was a big applause is the hall.
HEC chairman Dr Niaz Ahmad extended heartfelt felicitations to PU Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali, Director Sports Dr Shabbir Sarwar, HEC DG Sports Rizwan Shaukat and AD sports Muhammad for organizing this mega event in a graceful and befitting manner.
In the end the jubilant athletes qued up for group photos displaying trophies and cheque replicas.
