📚 GENERAL STAFF MEETING – ACADEMIC SESSION 2026–27
Government Graduate College for Women, Gulberg, Lahore

A General Staff Meeting was held on 03 September 2026 at Arifa Syeda Hall, Government Graduate College for Women, Gulberg, Lahore, under the leadership of the Principal, Prof. Dr. Nighat Naheed Zafar.

The meeting focused on the academic priorities, institutional planning and professional development goals for Academic Session 2026–27.

Key areas discussed included:

🔹 Review of the successful commencement of First-Year classes and orientation arrangements
🔹 Appreciation of faculty, administrative staff, Admission Committees, Proctors, Girl Guides, Discipline Teams and various college societies

🌟 Proud Achievement of Gul-o-Berg 🌟

The Department of Applied Psychology, Government Graduate College for Women, Gulberg Lahore, proudly announces the selection of our talented student Mamoona Mubasher, Semester IV, Session 2024–2028, as an Internee Trainer for the Psychological Well-Being and Development Program (PWDP) under the School Education Department, Punjab / District Education Authority Lahore.

Mamoona Mubasher earned this opportunity through a competitive interview and assessment process, demonstrating her academic knowledge, communication abilities, and professional competence.

As an Internee Trainer, she will conduct school-based psychological awareness and well-being sessions, focusing on emotional awareness, psychological well-being, positive personal development, and essential life skills among school students.

Today, she successfully delivered her first session at Government High School for Boys, marking an important milestone in her professional journey and providing her with valuable practical experience in applying psychological knowledge in a real educational setting.

Thank you very much for reconnecting with your beloved institution,Government Graduate College For women Gulberg Lahore . Your presence here today makes us truly proud and deeply grateful. It is heartwarming to see that our former students and faculty members still carry the love and affection for their institution in their hearts.

You are always welcome on the college campus. Whenever you wish to visit your alma mater, our doors and hearts will always be open to you. This is your institution, and you will always remain an important part of the GGCW Gulberg family.

I sincerely appreciate the dedicated efforts of all the members of the Alumni Association, who have generously contributed their valuable time and energy to organize this beautiful reunion. On the occasion of Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, Shakir Ali Museum, Pakistan National Council of the Arts & Ministry of National Heritage & Culture Division organized a successful:

"Yeh Watan Tumhara Hai, Tum Ho Pasban Is Ke"
A Group Exhibition celebrating art, culture & patriotism at Shakir Ali Museum on 25th August, 2026. 50+ artists from Textile, Product Design & Fine Arts expressed their love for Pakistan through their art. Faculty from the department of Visual Arts GGCW Gulberg Ms Sarosh Tariq, Ms Ghazala Anjum Shirazi, Dr Nomana Masood, Ms Sadia Qutub Hashmi, Ms Farah Ahmad and Ms Uzma Munir Rana participated in this show

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr Sumera Jawad - Professor of Fine Arts
Institute of Art and Culture , Lahore
Former Principal, College of Art and Design, Punjab University and Guests of Honor Prof. Dr. Ali Saqlain Haider Ali Ms. Fatima Salman, In-charge, Shakir Ali Museum, Lahore, along with guest speakers Ms Sarosh Tariq, Dr Nomana Masood and Ms Sadia Qutub Hashmi.

First Year Orientation Session 2026–28

The First Year Orientation Programme 2026–28 was successfully conducted in two sessions on 27 August 2026 at Arfa Syeda Zehra Hall, with approximately 2,200–2,500 students and parents in attendance.

Miss Sofia Hamyun delivered an informative presentation on the college’s SOPs, Rules and Regulations, while Dr. Riffat Mahmood briefed students and parents about the timetable, academic schedule and related arrangements. The ID Card Committee, headed by Dr. Sidra and her team, efficiently managed the distribution of students’ ID cards.

Miss Maryam Parvez and her team presented scholarship cheques to deserving merit- and need-based students, providing valuable financial assistance and encouragement to talented students.

Miss Uzma Majid, Admission Incharge, with their team warmly welcomed the students and parents and facilitated the admission and orientation arrangements. Principal Prof. Dr. Nighat Naheed Zafar also welcomed the parents and students and congratulated them on choosing Government Graduate College for Women, Gulberg, Lahore, one of the leading colleges in Lahore Division, renowned for its highly qualified faculty, academic excellence and strong standing in the Higher Education Department of Punjab.

A guided campus tour was also arranged for approximately 2,200–2,500 students and parents, who visited classrooms, laboratories, the library, Old Hall and other important college facilities. The parents highly appreciated the college’s efforts, excellent organization, discipline, hospitality and welcoming arrangements and expressed very positive feedback.

The Principal warmly congratulates the Admission Committee, ID Card Committee, Discipline Committee, Guide Committee, Security Committee, Intermediate Section, English Department, Urdu Department, and all other faculty and staff members for their excellent coordination, dedication, professionalism and teamwork, which made this large-scale orientation programme a great success.
