The 6th Industrial Advisory Board meeting of Mechanical Engineering Department, The University of Lahore was held on 11th January, 2023.

The professionals of industry were participative and helpful in providing guidance about curriculum development, industry support, testing certification, projects, research support, feedback mechanisms and internship opportunities for the students.

Mechanical Engineering Department students visited food processing plants of Unilever Pakistan. They visited the various sections such as production, maintenance workshops, warehouses, packing centers and testing laboratory. They were well guided and facilitated by the industrial unit management.

Mechanical Engineering Department, The University of Lahore 5th semester students as part of their course work for Instrumentation and Measurement visited Millat Equipment (Pvt.) Ltd on 9th January, 23.

The focus of the visit was on understanding the quality control mechanisms, observing the equipment and calibration techniques in the metrology laboratory.

The visit was welcomed by management of Millat Equipment Pvt. Ltd. The students were guided and facilitated towards meeting their study objectives. The concern and support shown by them was of high standard and value.

Recent highlights of the Olympiad 22 event held on Dec 24, 2022 in Auditorium 1.

ASHRAE delegates and office bearers as part of their regional lecture program visited Mechanical Engineering Department, The University of Lahore on 4th January, 23.

The guest speaker was Dr Hesham Safwat who is associated with academia and having more than 20 year experience as HVAC specialist and consultant. He has also served as ASHRAE President of Cairo Chapter. His talk was well recieved and followed by an interactive question answer session.

The collaboration of Mechanical Engineering Department, UOL and ASHRAE Pakistan was enhanced by the session and will facilitate future engagements and plans.

A very successful and enjoyable Mechanical Engineering Society Olympiad 22 was conducted on 24th December in Auditorium 1.

Students from Mechanical Engineering Department as well as other departments and societies participated in the event. The Olympiad consisted of mind, creative, physical and talent challenges.

The event provided opportunity to the student body to enjoy in each others company and build confidence, leadership and communication skills.
