We are delighted to share that the workshop on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Techniques, organised by the Department of Psychology at the University of Home Economics, Lahore, was successfully held on 29 June 2026.

The session was met with an enthusiastic response from students, faculty, and mental health professionals alike. We were honoured to have Dr. Kiran Ashfaq, PhD, ADCP, Clinical Psychologist at Jinnah Hospital Lahore, as our distinguished speaker. Her insightful presentation covered key CBT techniques and their practical applications, while the interactive Q&A session added great value to the learning experience.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Kiran Ishfaq for her time and expertise, and to all participants for their active engagement.

Special appreciation goes to Dr. Ayesha Sarfraz, Head of the Department of Psychology, whose vision and dedication were instrumental in organising this workshop. Her continued efforts in promoting academic excellence and mental health awareness are truly commendable.

On 2 July 2026, the Department of Psychology at the University of Home Economics, Lahore, successfully hosted a workshop on Counselling and EAPs in Organisational Settings.

The session drew an engaged audience of students, faculty members, and professionals eager to explore the vital role that counselling services and Employee Assistance Programmes play in today's corporate landscape. Participants gained valuable insight into how these structured support systems not only address individual employee concerns but also strengthen team cohesion and drive organisational success.

Our resource person for the day was Dr. Sonia Mairaj, an accomplished Organisational Psychologist and Corporate Trainer. Her delivery was both engaging and informative, as she walked attendees through the practical application of the Assess, Support, and Empower model. With her extensive corporate background and academic expertise, Dr. Mairaj offered perspectives that resonated deeply with everyone present.

We are deeply grateful to Dr. Sonia Mairaj for sharing her knowledge and experience with such warmth and clarity. Our thanks also go out to all the participants whose thoughtful questions and active participation added immense value to the session.

A special note of appreciation is reserved for Dr. Iram Mehboob, who took on the responsibility of organising this workshop with great dedication and professionalism. Her efforts were key to ensuring the smooth ex*****on of the event.

Scientific Session II
Scientific Session II of the one-day conference continued the academic discourse on “Cultivating Collective Resilience: Psychological Pathways to Community Well-being and Sustainable Social Change,” offering a comprehensive forum for the dissemination of research and scholarly insights.
The session was chaired by Dr. Rabia Farooqi (Associate Professor and Head, Psychology Department, NUR International University), with Dr. Aiza Qamar (Assistant Professor, NHP Department UHE) serving as Co-Chair. The session was moderated by Ms. Andleeb Zehra (Lecturer Human Development Department, UHE). The session featured a series of research presentations, where scholars shared their work, contributing to a deeper understanding of psychological approaches to community well-being and sustainable social change.

Scientific Session I
Scientific Session I of the one-day National conference, held under the theme “Cultivating Collective Resilience: Psychological Pathways to Community Well-being and Sustainable Social Change,” served as an engaging platform for scholarly dialogue and academic exchange.
The session was chaired by Dr. Shermeen Ijaz (Associate Professor of Psychology, Superior University), with Dr. Ayesha Khalid (Assistant Professor of Psuchology, UHE)serving as Co-Chair. The session proceedings were effectively moderated by Ms. Ruksana Mehmood (Additional Secretary, PPA) and Dr. Akram Riaz (Lecturer, Psychology Department UHE). The session brought together researchers and academics who presented their research papers, highlighting diverse perspectives and evidence-based insights within the field of psychology.
The session encouraged critical discussion and intellectual engagement, with students from the Department of Psychology actively participating, interacting with presenters, and contributing to a vibrant academic environment.
