Some insights from our Assistant Professor, Ar. Nabah Ali Saad, on our architectural installation at IAPEX Lahore.About how installations are not just temporary structures, but powerful tools of architectural expression allowing students to translate ideas, concepts, and narratives into a full-scale, experiential reality. She emphasized the importance of material honesty, spatial dialogue, and how such platforms bridge the gap between academic exploration and professional practice. According to her, IAPEX becomes a living classroom where experimentation, collaboration, and critical thinking come together, pushing young architects to think beyond drawings and into built experiences.

IAPEX 2025 Participation
The Department of Architecture, COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, actively participated in IAPEX 2025 – Lahore Chapter, showcasing creativity, innovation, and teamwork through the collective efforts of faculty, students, and volunteers.
Participation covered multiple segments including Segment Design, Quiz Competitions, Drama Fest, Flag-Raising, Volunteering, and contributions to TRIALOGUE 2025, with representatives demonstrating professionalism and institutional commitment.

CUI Lahore also participated in TRIALOGUE 2025, led by Ar. Aksam Qureshi and Ar. Nabah Ali, and took part in the Architects’ Convention “Neo Terrains: The Regenerative Metropolis”, featuring international speakers and panelists, moderated by Ar. Maira Khan.
In addition, COMSATS Lahore, in collaboration with BAE–IAP, hosted the award ceremony for the lecture series “Iconic Architecture Practices of Lahore”, convened by Ar. Maira Khan and initiated by Ar. Taimur Sarwar, Chair, Department of Architecture. The event celebrated architectural heritage, contextual practice, and contemporary design values.
The committee acknowledged the efforts of all participating faculty, students, and volunteers and noted the department’s participation as a significant achievement for the COMSATS Architecture community.

COMSATS Lahore at IAPEX 2025!
The Department of Architecture, CUI Lahore Campus proudly showcased its creativity, talent, and academic excellence at IAPEX 2025 Lahore Chapter.
Our faculty, students, and volunteers participated across multiple segments including Segment Design, Quiz, Drama Fest, Flag-Raising & Volunteer Teams, representing COMSATS with passion and professionalism.

We also contributed to TRIALOGUE 2025 led by Ar Aksam Qureshi and Ar Nabah Ali with Third year studio and the Architects’ Convention “Neo Terrains: The Regenerative Metropolis,” alongside international speakers, panelists, and leading architects moderated by Ar Maira Khan .
Additionally, CUI Lahore, in collaboration with BAE–IAP, hosted an award ceremony for the lecture series “Iconic Architecture Practices of Lahore,” convened by Ar Maira Khan and initiated by Ar Taimur Sarwar Chair of the Department celebrating heritage, context, and contemporary design values.

COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus, in collaboration with the Board of Architectural Education (BAE–IAP), proudly concluded its Lecture Series titled “Iconic Architecture Practices of Lahore – Celebrating Heritage & Context.”
Convened by Ar. Maira Khan, and initiated by Ar. Taimur Sarwar (Chairperson, Department of Architecture) and Ar. Shazia Hanif (HOD, Architecture, CUI Lahore), the series aimed to bridge academia and professional practice while highlighting Lahore’s rich architectural legacy.
The event featured some of Lahore’s most influential architects and practices, including:
Kamil Khan Mumtaz, BKM Associates, Zaheer Alam Sheikh Associates, Shelters, Kalim Siddiqui Associates, Al-Imam Associates (Ahmed Mukhtar & Amina Majeed), Imtiaz Ali Associates, Ar. Sajjad Kausar, SRDW, Prof. Sajida & Prof. Pervaiz Vandal, Raees Faheem Associates, and Isbah Hassan & Associates.
Each speaker shared their design philosophy and contributed to a meaningful dialogue on heritage, sustainability, innovation, and the evolving architectural identity of Lahore.
Special appreciation goes to the national leadership of IAP — Ar. Umar Saeed and Ar. Bisma Askari — for strengthening the spirit of collaboration in architectural education.
This series stands as a celebration of learning, cultural continuity, and responsible design. COMSATS and BAE–IAP look forward to continuing this initiative and showcasing more iconic practices that define Lahore’s architectural narrative.
