Congratulations to our students Mr. Ali Waqar and Ms. Sundas on the successful defense of their research work in their viva voce examinations.

The research was supervised by Dr. Shafiq Kamboh, Assistant Professor, and examined by Dr. Sameera Batool, Head of the Department of Media Studies, LCWU.

It is with profound sorrow that we share the sad news that the beloved mother of Dr. Sobia Abid, Assistant Professor, Department of Film & Broadcasting, SCS University of the Punjab , has passed away today.

May Allah Almighty grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and give Dr. Sobia and her family strength and patience to bear this irreparable loss.

Please remember the departed soul and the bereaved family in your prayers.

Prof. Dr. Lubna Zaheer Chairperson of the Department of Film & Broadcasting, SCS University of the Punjab was honoured to visit Iqbal Academy Pakistan, where the honourable Director, Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqui Sahib (SI), gave her a detailed briefing on the Academy’s various sections and ongoing activities. She highly appreciated the Academy’s outstanding work and its rich collection of the life, thought and writings of Allama Muhammad Iqbal.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss several meaningful projects and initiatives that could be undertaken through institutional collaboration, aimed at further promoting and preserving Iqbal’s intellectual and literary legacy.

Chairperson Prof. Dr. Lubna Zaheer warmly welcomed the distinguished guest, thanked him for visiting the department, and appreciated his valuable contributions to Pakistan's film industry.

The meeting featured an engaging discussion on the evolving entertainment industry, contemporary filmmaking, emerging opportunities for young filmmakers, and the future of Pakistani cinema. The exchange of ideas proved highly insightful and inspiring for all participants.
