The students of Department of Sociology, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), actively participated in the Academia–Industry Engagement held as part of the 20th Anniversary Celebration of Chanan Development Association (CDA).

The event featured an insightful panel discussion on Youth Development, Youth Empowerment, and Menstrual Health Management (MHM), offering students valuable practical exposure and insights into contemporary social development initiatives. Discussions also highlighted youth-focused programmes including prime minister youth programme (PMYP), National youth council (NYC), skills development, and entrepreneurship.

The Department continues to promote meaningful academia–industry linkages, providing students with opportunities for professional learning, networking, experiential engagement, and exposure to real-world social development practices.

🌟 Alumna Success Story | Department of Sociology, LCWU

The Department of Sociology, Lahore College for Women University, proudly celebrates its alumna Amber Bajwa (BS Sociology, 2016–2020).

Amber is a social development professional, researcher, and human rights advocate, currently serving as Director, Programs at Youth Development Foundation (YDF). Her work focuses on women’s empowerment, youth development, education, minority rights, and civic participation.

She holds an MPhil in Sociology from Forman Christian College, and her research on educational inequalities among Christian youth in Pakistan was published internationally in 2025. Her achievements include the Christian Women Leadership Award and Formanite Achiever 2024–25.

The Department of Sociology, LCWU, takes pride in Amber’s achievements and wishes her continued success and impact. 🌸
