Day 2 Visit – Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital- December, 19 2025

This experiential learning activity was organized by Ms. Taliya Amir as part of the Dietetics III course, offering students practical exposure to clinical nutrition services, food safety management, and compassionate patient care in a real healthcare setting.

The students were given an insightful briefing on the Neutropenic Diet from preparing the diet order to service. The focal person explained the International Food Safety Protocols implemented at Shaukat Khanum, highlighting strict hygiene practices, quality control measures, and patient-centered meal planning. Students had the opportunity to observe the system in practice.

The students were accompanied by Ms. Sheeza Imtiaz and Ms. Maria Nadeem focal person from the Rainbow Eating Disorder & Obesity Centre, who provided valuable guidance throughout the activity.

Memorandum of Understanding: The Department of Nutrition Sciences – FAHS is pleased to announce a new Memorandum of Understanding with Ittefaq Hospital (Trust), established on 26th November 2025.
This partnership aims to:
1. Enhance clinical exposure
2. Support academic and professional development
3. Promote research and community engagement activities

World Osteoporosis Day – “It’s Unacceptable” | Game Day Celebration

The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences celebrated World Osteoporosis Day on 20th November 2025 at the USA Cantt Campus, raising awareness on bone health through energetic activities under the theme " It’s Unacceptable.”*

The day began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Registrar Mr. Ameer, joined by all HODs. We also acknowledge Dean FAHS, Dr. Ahsan Javed, for his continuous support and guidance toward strengthening the faculty’s initiatives.
Led and organized by Dr. Faizan Hamid and Ms. Ayesha Iftikhar , the event featured enthusiastic student participation in Plank Hold, Deadlift, Arm Wrestling, Tug of War, Spoon and Relay Race. The creative Calci-Cool Smoothie Station highlighted the importance of calcium-rich diets.

Special thanks to FAHS faculty—especially Ms. Saba and Ms. Ayesha Deen—and to the Women Empowerment Society and Blood Donation Society for their help in managing the event.
The celebration was further enriched by Nutrixin with *free BMD screenings and gifts, Molty Ortho with their orthopedic product display, and Asra Derm with an engaging stall and complimentary giveaways.
Interactive games, awareness activities, and goodie bags made the event both memorable and impactful.

The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences conducted an interactive workshop on Effective Exam Creation on November 11, 2025, in Room C1, University of South Asia. The session was facilitated by Dr. Qurrat-ul-Ain Nazar, Assistant Professor, Department of Physiotherapy.

Learning Outcomes
1. Apply Bloom’s Taxonomy in the development of quality assessment tools.
2. Construct valid and reliable exam items using OBE framework.
