On 26th April 2026, the Student Council of ISMIUK held a highly productive meeting with the International Association of Student Surgical Societies (IASSS). The Council was represented by its President and General Secretary, while the discussion from IASSS was led by the Program Director for International Affairs, ensuring a focused and strategic dialogue.

The meeting emphasized strengthening international collaboration, with key discussions on expanding and revitalizing the Kyrgyzstan Chapter of IASSS, alongside exploring the formalization of partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Both sides aligned on enhancing academic engagement and creating more active opportunities for student involvement.

With IASSS spanning 130+ countries and a network of over 10,000 members and surgical societies, this engagement reflects the Student Council’s forward-driven approach toward global partnerships. The next round of discussions is scheduled for May with the administration of ISMIUK to further advance this collaboration.

The SCIVERSE Inter-University Olympiad.

On April 20, 2026,The SCIVERSE Inter-University Olympiad, organized by the IHSM Students’ Council, brought together future doctors form 5 different universities across the Kyrgyzstan for an intense academic competition across core medical disciplines.

This Olympiad was designed to assess theoretical knowledge, strengthen clinical reasoning, and evaluate practical skills in real-time scenarios.
The Olympiad included theoretical, practical (simulation-based), and clinical stages and was conducted with the participation of the jury.
