FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus, Electrical Engineering Students Win Best Design Award at National Autonomous Submersible Design Competition 2026.

Pakistan recently witnessed a landmark achievement in robotics and underwater technology with the inaugural National Autonomous Submersible Design Competition 2026, hosted by the University of Lahore. Team RoboSapiens, comprising students from the BS Electrical Engineering program at FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus, has proudly secured the Best Design Award in the competition.

The competition brought together talented engineering students from across the country to design innovative solutions for challenging underwater applications. Representing the Department of Electrical Engineering, FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus, Team RoboSapiens comprised Mr. Muhammad, Mr. Ch. Hussnain Tahir, Ms. Yashfa Iqbal, Ms. Zainab Rashid, and Mr. Awais Iqbal. The team presented its autonomous submersible design before a distinguished panel comprising senior leadership of the Pakistan Navy and the Pakistan Naval Police. Their innovative design and strong technical ex*****on earned them the Best Design Award, marking an impressive achievement for FAST-NUCES.

The achievement reflects the strong culture of innovation, hands-on engineering, and real-world problem-solving fostered at FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus, while highlighting the capabilities of its Electrical Engineering students in emerging fields such as robotics technology and autonomous systems.

A four-session Faculty Orientation Program for newly hired faculty members was successfully conducted at FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus on August 12–13, 2026.

The sessions covered key areas including HR procedures, domain-specific training, EdTech/ICT tools, outcome-based assessment, institutional policies, professional ethics, effective teaching practices, semester operations, examinations, and invigilation.

The four sessions were hosted by Ayesha Iftikhar, IQAE, and conducted by Mr. Nasir Tufail, Dr. Arshad Ali, Mr. Muhammad Akmal, and Dr. Sara Khan.

The orientation was well received by the newly hired faculty, with active participation and engagement throughout. Overall, the program provided a valuable platform for faculty members to understand the academic, administrative, and professional expectations of their roles at FAST-NUCES Lahore Campus.
