75 Years of Friendship, A New Era of Collaboration: The University of Lahore Inaugurates Confucius Institute

The University of Lahore proudly inaugurated the Confucius Institute at The University of Lahore on 19 August 2026 at the M.H. Qazi Auditorium, celebrating this landmark occasion alongside the 75th Year of Pak-China Diplomatic Relations.

The ceremony brought together distinguished guests, university leadership, faculty, students, and dignitaries to celebrate the enduring friendship and growing educational and cultural collaboration between Pakistan and China.

From the recitation of the Holy Quran, national anthems of both countries and captivating cultural performances of both countries, the event beautifully reflected friendship, mutual respect, cultural understanding, and shared aspirations.

The presence of H.E. Mr. Sun Yan, Consul General People's Republic of China, Lahore, Prof Dr Muhammad Ashraf, Rector UOL, along with Dean Confucius institute, university leadership and distinguished dignitaries, added great significance to this memorable occasion. The exchange of souvenirs and cake-cutting ceremony further symbolized the strengthening of educational and cultural ties between the two nations.

University of Lahore Inaugurates Confucius Institute UAF-Subset

The University of Lahore inaugurated the **Confucius Institute UAF-Subset** on August 19, 2026, marking the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations. The ceremony brought together Chinese and university officials, faculty, students, and media to celebrate educational and cultural collaboration.

The institute aims to become a regional hub for **Chinese language and cultural studies**, fostering academic exchange, mutual understanding, and lasting Pakistan-China friendship.
