Beaconhouse National University is proud to share a remarkable achievement by its sustainability lead and School of Education alumna, Nooria Shiraz.
Nooria is a distinction holder from the graduating batch of MPhil Linguistics and TESOL in 2024, and current sustainability lead at BNU, has been awarded a full scholarship to Yale University, in the Urban Climate Leadership Program at the Yale School of the Environment for the 2026–2027 academic year. Offered by the Hixon Center for Urban Sustainability in partnership with the Three Cairns Group, this highly exclusive, invite-only program admits only a handful of emerging leaders worldwide each year. Ms. Shiraz is the only candidate selected from Pakistan, placing her among an elite cohort of climate professionals, affirming her as one of the most promising young voices in urban sustainability today.
At Yale, she will sharpen her command of climate mitigation and communication, adaptation strategies, and nature-based solutions with specialized training in urban and community forestry, a domain in which Yale's Forest School holds global preeminence. This is far more than a professional milestone; it is the next chapter in a career defined by ambition, excellence, and a refusal to operate within conventional borders, preparing her to lead on a global scale, to shape climate policy where it matters most, and to prove that Pakistani excellence belongs not just in national conversations, but at the very center, solving world's most urgent challenges.
