The Department of Physics, The University of Lahore, in collaboration with the Institute of Space Science, University of the Punjab, successfully organized an engaging series of academic talks on Quantum Information Technologies, Quantum Computing, and Space Science.
Under the leadership of Dr. Asif Hussain, Head of the Department of Physics, The University of Lahore, and with the support of Dr. Adila Batool, Director, Institute of Space Science, University of the Punjab, the events brought together faculty members, researchers, and students to explore emerging areas of Quantum Physics, Space Science and foster meaningful inter-university collaboration and knowledge exchange.

The Department of Physics, University of Lahore (UOL) proudly participated in the Inter-University Seminar on Quantum Mechanics in Space, held on July 18 at the Institute of Space Science, University of the Punjab.
Dr. Nasir Mehmood, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, delivered an insightful talk titled " Bridging the gap between classical & quantum computing in the age of AI" exploring the evolution of classical and quantum computing, the role of AI in advancing quantum algorithms and accessibility, current challenges, and future opportunities.
The event was graced by Dr. Adila Batool (Director, Institute of Space Science, PU), Dr. Zia ul Haq (Assistant Professor, Institute of Space Science, PU), and Dr. Izhar Sagheer (Assistant Professor, Centre of Excellence in Solid State Physics, PU), alongside university officials, faculty members, researchers, and students from across Lahore.

7th Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) Meeting – Department of Physics, The University of Lahore
The Department of Physics, The University of Lahore, successfully organized the 7th Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) Meeting on 9 July 2026 at 9:30 AM in the Conference Room, Department of Physics.
The meeting commenced with a warm welcome to the distinguished Industrial Advisory Board members by Dr. Muhammad Iftikhar Khan, convenor, followed by the opening remarks from Dr. Wajeehah Shahid, Associate Professor and Secretary, Industrial Advisory Board.
The meeting focused on strengthening industry–academia collaboration, enhancing the BS Physics curriculum, expanding student internships, promoting industry-supported Final Year Projects, fostering research collaborations, organizing expert lecture series, and improving graduate employability through meaningful engagement with industry partners.
