IMM TOACS Mock Exam 2026

The Department of Operative Dentistry & Endodontics, CMH Lahore Medical College & Institute of Dentistry, successfully conducted a two-day IMM TOACS Mock Exam Workshop designed to provide postgraduate trainees with a comprehensive, exam-oriented learning experience.
Day 1: Mock TOACS examination with a series of clinically relevant stations designed to simulate the actual examination environment.
Day 2: Detailed discussion and review of the stations, followed by hands-on practical sessions to reinforce clinical concepts and enhance procedural skills.
The workshop provided an opportunity for trainees to assess their preparation, identify areas for improvement, strengthen clinical decision-making, and gain valuable practical experience in a supportive academic environment.
A productive two days of learning, practice, discussion, and professional growth.

*World Physical Therapy Day 2026 & Poster Presentation* SAHS CMH LMC & IOD

School of Allied Health Sciences celebrated World Physical Therapy Day on 15th September 2026 under the global theme “*Cardiovascular Disease and Stroke Prevention and Rehabilitation*.”

The event was graced by Chief Guest Principal Maj Gen Nadeem Fazal HI(M) TI(M) (R), Vice Principal Academics, Director SAHS Prof Dr Arooj Fatima, Deans/Directors, HODs, faculty members, students and featured insightful talks by Prof. Dr. Ehsan Javed, (Dean FAHS, University Professor of South Asia), and Dr. Hafiz Ijaz Burq, (HOD Physiotherapy Department, LGH) and our external evaluators Prof. Dr. Shoaib Waqas, (Dean FoRS, UBAS), Prof. Dr. Saima Zahid (Superior University), Prof. Dr. Maryam Butt (HOD UOL), Dr. Gulnaz Yamin (Vice Principal Central Park College) Dr. Roohi Abbas (LCWU).

The prize money and appreciation was awarded to Position and Distinction Holders in University of Health Sciences by the Chief Guest Principal Maj Gen Nadeem Fazal HI(M) TI(M) (R), Vice Principal Academics Brig Shahzad Mahmood (R), Director SAHS Prof Dr Syeda Arooj Fatima.
Many congratulations to concerned HODs/Coordinators (DPT & MIT) and teaching faculty for their outstanding efforts and to the students for remarkable performance.

An E-Poster Competition was successfully held under the supervision of Prof Dr Faiqua Yasser HOD Oral Pathology CMH LMC & IOD on 10th September 2026, for Third Year BDS students as part of their academia. The event aimed to promote creativity, teamwork, scientific communication, and deeper understanding of important concepts in the subject.
The occasion was graced by the Principal/CE Maj Gen Nadeem Fazal HI (M )TI (M)(R), DCE, VP Academics, and Dean IOD, whose presence encouraged and motivated the students.
Dr Sabahat Javed, Dr Aminah Malik, and Dr Saira Atif served as judges and evaluated the posters on scientific content, clarity, organization, creativity, and overall presentation.
Students participated enthusiastically and presented visually engaging, scientifically informative e-posters on various Oral Pathology topics. The competition provided an excellent platform to enhance presentation skills, teamwork, and subject knowledge. Overall, the event was an engaging and valuable academic activity, reflecting the students’ dedication, creativity, and enthusiasm for learning.

Field trip  2nd Year BDS StudentsCommunity& Preventive Dentistry 🌟

On 31st August 2026, the 2nd-year BDS students from the Department of Community & Preventive Dentistry conducted their First field trip to Boys' Garrison High School, located on Sarfaraz Rafiqui Road.

The visit included enthusiastic students, accompanied by 12 House Officers, under the supervision of the Head of Department, Dr. Asma Shakoor. During the activity, DMFT (Decayed, Missing, Filled Teeth) scores were calculated by the students under the supervision of faculty and house officers to assess the Oral health status of the school children.

The outreach aimed to enhance students clinical exposure and community-based learning. Students performed Oral hygiene assessments, identified common dental issues, and promoted preventive dental care through interactive discussions. A special focus was given to raising awareness about the use of to***co in all its forms, including e-ci******es, vapes, paan, gutka, chalia, ci******es, and sh**ha. Individual counseling sessions were tailored for each student, emphasizing the harmful effects of to***co and motivating them toward healthy, to***co-free lifestyles. Interactive brushing demonstrations and oral hygiene awareness sessions were also conducted. Special thanks to Colgate for generously providing oral health samples and special educational materials were also distributed by the department which contributed significantly to promoting preventive oral healthcare.

The field trip provided valuable hands-on experience for students, helping them apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world community settings while contributing to improved oral and general health awareness among school children.

Elevate Your Clinical Vision: A Hands-on Dental Operatory Microscope Workshop

The Department of Operative Dentistry and Endodontics, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Umm-e-Rubab Sherazi, HOD, successfully organized a hands-on workshop titled “Elevate Your Clinical Vision: A Hands-on Dental Operatory Microscope Workshop” on 2nd September 2026.

The workshop was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Arshad Hasan (Operative Dentistry) from Dow college of dentistry , who provided expert demonstrations and hands-on guidance on the clinical use of the dental operatory microscope. Prof Dr. Sobia Masood actively contributed to the coordination and smooth conduct of the workshop.

The session was attended by postgraduate trainees and general dentists, with participants from both the department and outside institutions. It focused on microscope handling, positioning, ergonomics, magnification, illumination, and its application in operative dentistry and endodontics.

The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for participants to experience enhanced visualization, precision, and ergonomics in clinical dentistry. The hands-on format helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, encouraging participants to incorporate magnification into their clinical practice and further enhance the quality of patient care.

We are pleased to announce that the formal inauguration of three state-of-the-art HND Laboratories at the School of Allied Health Sciences on August 18, 2026.

We humbly thanks our Principal/CE Maj Gen Prof. Dr. Nadeem Fazal (R), HI (M), TI (M), Vice Principal Academics, Brig (R) Shahzad Mahmood and Vice Principal A&P Brig Shoaib Azam for providing us well-equipped and established lab facilities.

The inauguration ceremony and visit was led by VP Academics, Brig. (R) Dr. Shahzad Mahmood, along with Director Events & Uni Coord, Lt. Col. (R) Dr. Waqar Ul Hassan Zaidi, and Director SAHS, Prof. Dr. Arooj Fatima.
The Head of Department, HND, Dr. Sana Saadat, Class Incharge Ms Yasha Altaf provided a comprehensive briefing, highlighting the academic relevance and practical applications to students.

A warm and respectful farewell was accorded to our esteemed Chief Guest Gen Salman Saleem HI M (R) on his departure from CMH LMC & IOD.
His exemplary leadership, dedication, and invaluable contributions will be fondly remembered.
As a token of respect and appreciation, the Chief Executive and Principal Gen Nadeem Fazal HI M (R) presented him with a souvenir.
His guidance and distinguished service will be sincerely missed by the entire CMH family.
