The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) is pleased to share the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between LCWU, and SoftMind Solutions, a multinational AI-first software company specializing in Agentic AI solutions and scalable intelligent products for the global market. The MoU was signed on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, LCWU, by Prof. Dr. Saima Sharif, Director ORIC. The LCWU delegation also included Prof. Dr. Abuzar and Dr. Khansa from the Department of Computer Science, while the SoftMind Solutions delegation comprised Ms. Ayesha Ashraf, Project Manager; Ms. Mariyam Manzoor, HR Manager; Mr. Fahad Anwar, Chief Technical Officer; and Ms. Amina Gulzar, Social Media Marketing Manager.

Under this collaboration, SoftMind Solutions will provide remote and on-site internship opportunities for BS Computer Science students, along with technical guidance, mentorship, and industry support for Final Year Projects (FYPs). The partnership aims to strengthen students’ practical skills, exposure to emerging technologies, and professional readiness, while further advancing LCWU’s commitment to meaningful industry–academia linkages, innovation, and student employability.

ORIC LCWU is pleased to announce that Dr. Nausheen Mazhar, Head, Department of Geography, Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), has been acknowledged for her significant contribution to a France–Pakistan academic and research collaboration under the PHC project. 🇫🇷🤝🇵🇰

The collaboration, carried out with Paul Passy and partner teams, goes beyond scientific research by promoting institutional cooperation, cultural and linguistic exchange, international academic engagement, and the training and mentoring of young researchers.

This recognition reflects LCWU’s growing commitment to meaningful international research partnerships and to building academic bridges that extend far beyond the laboratory.

An insightful Panel Discussion on “Industry Meets Academia” was held at IMA 2026 – Industry Meets Academia at Expo Centre Lahore on 16 August 2026, moderated by Dr. Hafsah Batool.

The distinguished panel featured Prof. Dr. M. Ejaz Sindhu, Mr. Umer Saleem, Mr. Qazi Saddam Naseer, Ms. Shaheen Malik, Engr. Muhammad Azam, and Prof. Dr. Saima Sharif, who shared valuable perspectives on strengthening industry–academia linkages, public policy, entrepreneurship, employability, skills development, global exposure, research impact, and sustainable collaboration.

The discussion highlighted the importance of transforming academic knowledge into meaningful industry partnerships, economic opportunities, and societal impact.

Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), a partner university of IMA 2026 – Industry Meets Academia, made a strong impact on the opening day at Expo Centre Lahore, presenting over 20 stalls that highlighted its creativity, innovation, academic excellence, and entrepreneurial potential.

Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari attended as chief guest, while Vice Chancellor LCWU Prof. Dr. Uzma Qureshi joined as guest of honor along with senior academic and administrative leadership. Prof. Dr. Uzma Qureshi praised the outstanding creativity of LCWU students and their impressive display of innovative, artistic, and academic work, emphasizing the importance of such platforms in connecting young talent with industry opportunities. Rector Superior University Prof. Dr. Sumera also appreciated LCWU’s active participation and its role in strengthening academia–industry collaboration.

The LCWU delegation included Focal Person Dr. Ayesha Siddiqa, Prof. Dr. Saima Sharif, Dr. Moneeba Iftikhar, Dr. Ayesha Khalil, Dr. Hafsa Batool, Dr. Asia Jabeen, along with other faculty members and students.

LCWU’s exhibits received widespread appreciation from guests and visitors for their creativity, diversity, and innovation, reinforcing the University’s strong and meaningful presence at IMA 2026.
