𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐟 𝐙𝐚𝐡𝐫𝐚 (Assistant Professor) conducted an insightful session on Uses & Gratification Theory: Redesigned as part of the faculty development lecture series, Media Talk, held on 15th May 2026. The discussion highlighted how evolving communication technologies and algorithm-driven content have transformed media consumption patterns, encouraging users to remain constantly connected. The session also examined how gratification in the digital age extends beyond content consumption to identity formation, validation, and online engagement. Through insightful discussion and critical analysis, the talk encouraged participants to reflect on the relationship between media use, audience behavior, and the growing influence of digital platforms in everyday life.

In collaboration with the Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation, an interactive session was held on May 18, 2026, at FMMC, UCP. The session was organized by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐀𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐛 (Assistant Professor & In-charge, UCP FM Radio). The session was honored by the presence of 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐨𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐫𝐚 (Station Director, Radio Pakistan, Lahore), 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐬𝐚𝐝 𝐀𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫 (Deputy Director, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting), and 𝐌𝐫. 𝐙𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫 (In-charge, FM 101 & FM 94), who shared valuable insights on the challenges and future of the broadcasting industry in Pakistan. 𝐃𝐫. Dr. Ahmer Basra highlighted the significance of radio in the digital era, while Mr. Asad Abrar introduced the RJ & Broadcast Training Internship Program "𝑽𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆, 𝑽𝒊𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 & 𝑩𝒓𝒐𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑬𝒙𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆" 𝒂𝒕 𝑹𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒐 𝑷𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏, 𝑳𝒂𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝑪𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒆, aimed at equipping students with professional broadcasting, storytelling, audience engagement, and live studio skills. The first session of the Media Literacy Program 2026 — a free, three-day capacity-building initiative by the Faculty of Media and Mass Communication (FMMC), UCP — was successfully held on May 19, 2026, under the supervision of 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐅𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐢𝐠 (Dean, FMMC) and 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐟 𝐙𝐚𝐡𝐫𝐚 (Assistant Professor). A total of 75 students from 𝟖 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐂𝐏 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦. Dr. Sadaf Zahra delivered an introductory presentation covering the program's objectives, the faculty's academic vision, and the importance of media literacy for today's youth. The first lecture, titled "𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝒓𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝑩𝒆𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝑵𝒆𝒘𝒔," was delivered by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐭𝐢𝐟 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐚𝐟 (HoD, FMMC), focusing on how news is produced, framed, and circulated in the digital era. Participants were introduced to key concepts, including misinformation, disinformation, fake news, clickbait headlines, and media bias. The session also emphasized the importance of fact-checking, source verification, critical thinking, and responsible social media consumption in today's fast-paced information environment.

A faculty and staff meeting was held at FMMC, UCP, on May 22, 2026, chaired by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐅𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐢𝐠, Dean of FMMC. During the meeting, he highlighted the upcoming launch of two new undergraduate programs — Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Visual Art and Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Visual Communication Design (VCD) — set to begin in Fall 2026. A Media Talk session was held on May 8, 2026, conducted by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐮𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐝 (Principal Lecturer and Coordinator for MS Film & Digital Media) and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐀𝐬𝐡𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐟𝐚𝐪𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐢 (Senior Lecturer and Coordinator for M.Phil. & MS Advertising and PR). The session focused on the procedures for supervising and conducting MS/MPhil vivas in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Graduate Service Office (GSO), UCP. The coordinators walked supervisors through the complete viva management process, covering step-by-step documentation, academic requirements, and official GSO policies. They also provided guidance on the preparation and submission of essential documents, departmental coordination, viva scheduling, and evaluation procedures — equipping supervisors with a clear understanding of all compliance requirements.

FMMC successfully conducted the 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐄) 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓–𝟐𝟔 meeting for its BS programs on May 14, 2026. The meeting was chaired by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐃𝐫.
