Please note that attendance will be marked on LMS, and the system will be locked after 48 hours. Therefore, take your attendance seriously from the beginning of the semester to avoid any shortage.

ازقلم: ریاض آفاق اولڈ راوین
4 ـ اگست 1985 تاریخ کا وہ سیاہ ورق جس روز علم کے ایک مینار کا سایہ ہم سے رخصت ہو گیا۔ وہ دن جب گورنمنٹ کالج لاہور کی دیواریں خاموش ہو گئیں، درس گاہوں کی رونق ماند پڑ گئی، اور اُردو زبان کے دامن سے ایک قیمتی گوہر جدا ہو گیا۔

پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نذیر احمد صاحب۔ نام نہیں، ایک مکتب تھا۔ ایک ایسا اسمِ بامسمیٰ جس کے ساتھ ہی "تہذیب، تدریس اور تبحر" کے الفاظ از خود ذہن میں نقش ہو جاتے ہیں۔

وہ ممتاز ماہرِ تعلیم تھے، لیکن صرف نصاب کے معلم نہ تھے۔ وہ "استادوں کے استاد" تھے۔ ان کی شخصیت میں دانائی کا وقار تھا، تحقیق کی گہرائی تھی، اور ادب کی لطافت تھی۔ وہ ریسرچ سکالر تھے جن کی قلمی کاوشیں علمی حلقوں میں حجت سمجھی جاتیں۔ وہ مصنف تھے جن کے الفاظ سے معنویت ٹپکتی تھی۔ وہ ماہرِ لسانیات تھے جنہوں نے زبان کی صرف و نحو، فصاحت و بلاغت کو نئے پیرائے عطا کیے۔ وہ ماہرِ نصاب ساز تھے جنہوں نے نسلوں کی فکری تشکیل میں بنیادی کردار ادا کیا۔

گورنمنٹ کالج لاہور کی پرنسپل شپ ان کے لیے محض ایک عہدہ نہ تھی، وہ ایک امانت تھی۔ انہوں نے اس علمی درس گاہ کو صرف چلایا نہیں، اس کی روح کو جِلا بخشی۔ ان کے لیکچرز میں علم کا سمندر موجزن ہوتا تھا اور ان کے سکوت میں ہزاروں سوالات کے جواب پنہاں ہوتے تھے۔ وہ عالم تھے جن کی مجلس میں بیٹھ کر جہالت شرما جاتی تھی۔ وہ واعظ تھے جن کی بات دل کے دریچے کھول دیتی تھی۔

ان کا قلم جب رواں ہوتا تو لفظ، لفظ نہ رہ کر مرصع گوہر بن جاتا۔ ان کی تحریر میں معرب و مفرس اصطلاحات کی ایسی آمیزش ہوتی کہ قاری پر سحر طاری ہو جاتا۔ وہ ادب کے پاسبان تھے، زبان کے محافظ تھے، اور فکر کی آبیاری کرنے والے باغبان تھے۔

آج بھی جب 4 اگست کی صبح طلوع ہوتی ہے تو لاہور کی فضاؤں میں ان کے درس کی گونج سنائی دیتی ہے۔ کتابوں کے اوراق ان کے نام سے مہکتے ہیں، اور شاگردوں کی دعاؤں میں ان کا ذکر خیر جاری ہے۔

ڈاکٹر نذیر احمد صاحب! آپ جسم سے رخصت ہوئے مگر فکر سے لافانی ہو گئے۔ آپ نے ثابت کیا کہ اصل میراث جاگیر نہیں ہوتی، اصل میراث علم و ادب کی وہ شمع ہے جو نسلوں تک راہ دکھاتی ہے۔

خراجِ عقیدت کے یہ چند حروف شاید آپ کے مقام کا احاطہ نہ کر سکیں، مگر یہ ہمارے دل ❤️ کی وہ تڑپ ہے جو آپ جیسے قلندرِ علم کے فراق میں صدیوں تک زندہ رہے گی۔
