چور ایک گھر میں داخل ہوا۔ اس کی آہٹ سے گھر کی بوڑھی مالکن جاگ گئی ۔ اور پہچان گئی کہ یہ کوئی چور ہے۔ اس سے پہلے کہ چور پچھلے پیروں واپس مڑتا بڑھیا نے اسے بڑے پیار سے بلا یا اور کہا
" بیٹا مجھے لگتا ہے تو چوری کرنے پر مجبور ہے ما شاء اللہ شکل صورت سے کسی اچھے خاندان کا لگتا ہے اور شریف بھی ۔ سب سوئے ہوئے ہیں تو سامنے والی الماری کھول کے اس میں سے اپنی ضرورت کے مطابق پیسے نکال لے ۔اللہ تیری مشکل آسان کرے۔ لیکن ادھر آ پہلے مجھے ایک بات بتا۔" بڑھیا نے اٹھ کے بیٹھتے ہو ئے اسے قریبی کرسی پر بیٹھنے کے لیے اشارہ کیا۔
"میں نے ابھی ابھی ایک خواب دیکھا ہے تو مجھے شکل سے سمجھدار لگتا ہے مجھے اس کی تعبیر بتا۔"
بڑھیا کے لہجے کی نرمی اور اپنی تعریف سے وہ ریجھ گیا اور بڑھیا کے پاس آ کے بیٹھ گیا ۔ بڑھیا نے اسے اپنا خواب سنانا شروع کیا ۔
" میں نے دیکھا ہےکہ ایک جنگل ہے اور اس میں ایک بڑا تالاب ہے وہاں مویشی چر رہے ہیں اچانک ایک فرشتہ نمودار ہوتا ہے اور زور زور سے پکارتا ہے ۔

امجد!" بڑھیا نے زور سے آواز لگائی
پھر بولی "بس بیٹا یہ آواز سن کے میری آنکھ کھل گئی ۔ "
بڑھیا نے ابھی بات ختم نہیں کی تھی کہ دوسرے کمرے سے امجد بھاگتا ہوا اندر آگیا اور آتے ہی چور کو پکڑ لیا اور اسے مارنا شروع کردیا۔
بڑھیا کو چور پر ترس آیا تو اس نے اپنے بیٹے امجد کو اسے چھوڑ دینے کا کہا لیکن اب چور چیخ رہا تھا
"مارو مجھے اور مارو کیوں کہ میں نے اپنے پیشے میں خیانت کی ہے ۔ مجھے نہیں بھولنا چاہیے تھا کہ میں چور ہوں خوابوں کی تعبیر بتانے والا نہیں۔"
