Students of BS Media and Communication Studies, GCU Lahore, showcased their creativity and communication skills in the Fundamentals of Live Broadcasting course by producing talk shows on diverse and thought-provoking topics. From concept development and scripting to hosting and on-air presentation, the projects reflected strong understanding of live broadcast formats, teamwork, and audience engagement. Kudos to the students and faculty for fostering hands-on learning that effectively bridges theory with practice.

The Institute of Media and Communication Studies, in collaboration with the Laureate Foundation and the Young Journalists Society (YJS), organized a panel discussion titled “From Screen to Stories: Media’s Role in Creating Narratives about Online Violence.”
Panelists Syed Muzammil Shah, Senior Anchor, and Ms. Aqdus Waheed, Lecturer, discussed the media’s role in shaping narratives on online and gender-based violence, emphasizing ethical reporting and responsible digital practices.
Held during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the session underscored media literacy and ethical storytelling. Dr. Mukhtar Ahmmad welcomed the panelists and participants, highlighting the societal relevance of the topic and its importance for media students.
The discussion was followed by a Q&A session, souvenirs were presented to the guests.
