The Department of Chemical Engineering, UET Lahore, is pleased to announce a new milestone in industryโ€“academia collaboration with the successful completion of the first faculty externship under the ๐”๐„๐“โ€“๐…๐…๐‚ ๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ.

As part of FFCโ€™s IMPACT initiative to strengthen industryโ€“academia collaboration, ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐Œ๐ฎ๐ก๐š๐ฆ๐ฆ๐š๐ ๐…๐š๐ก๐ž๐ž๐ฆ, Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, completed a three-week externship at FFCโ€™s ๐†๐จ๐ญ๐ก ๐Œ๐š๐œ๐ก๐ก๐ข ๐๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ญ, gaining firsthand exposure to large-scale fertilizer manufacturing operations and engaging with engineers and technical professionals across diverse operational areas.๐Ÿญ

The externship provided a valuable opportunity to bridge academic knowledge with industrial practice, explore real-world engineering challenges, and identify potential areas for future technical collaboration. The experience will contribute to enhancing the relevance of classroom teaching and facilitating knowledge exchange between academia and industry.

Through interactive sessions, participants gained practical insights into workplace culture, communication, public speaking, confidence building, presentation skills, personality development, engineering problem-solving, risk management, CV writing, interview preparation, and strategies for making a positive impact during the early stages of their careers.

The program also included an industrial visit to the ๐…๐…๐‚ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐๐š๐ฌ๐ข๐ฆ (๐…๐…๐‚-๐๐) ๐๐ฅ๐š๐ง๐ญ, providing participants with valuable firsthand exposure to large-scale fertilizer manufacturing and industrial operations.
