The Case Method in Management Education: An Introduction | Workshop 1

The School of Management, Forman Christian College (A Chartered University), successfully organized the first workshop in its Case Method Series on October 5, 2026, featuring Prof. Wasif M. Khan, Professor, School of Management, FCCU.

Held at the Resource Center (E-304), the workshop introduced participants to the fundamentals of case writing and the effective application of the case method in management education. The workshop highlighted the role of case-based teaching in fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, problem-solving, and evidence-based decision-making, offering participants valuable insights into enhancing their teaching practices.

This session marked an important first step in the Case Method Series, promoting innovative and practical approaches to management education.

The School of Management, Forman Christian College (A Chartered University), is pleased to highlight the latest research contribution by Dr. Samreen Hamid, Assistant Professor, published in Ecological Economics (ABS 3).

Her study, “Turning climate concern into climate courage: Female parliamentarians, environmental taxation and SDG13,” explores the role of female parliamentarians in translating climate concern into meaningful climate action. The study highlights the significance of this relationship in the context of renewable energy investment, CO₂ emissions, forest reserves, and employment opportunities, contributing to the broader discussion on SDG 13: Climate Action.

The School of Management, Forman Christian College (A Chartered University), is pleased to highlight the latest research contribution by Dr. Asher Ramish, Associate Professor, published in Business Strategy and the Environment. His study, “Unraveling the Interplay Between Triple-R and Sustainability in Supply Chains: A Complexity-Based Analysis,” investigates the impact of robustness, responsiveness, and resilience (Triple-R capabilities) on supply chain sustainability while examining the moderating role of supply chain complexity. Drawing on dynamic capabilities theory and complexity theory, the study develops and empirically tests a conceptual model using survey data collected from 199 manufacturing firms in Pakistan.

International Research Excellence | Best Paper Presentation Award

The School of Management, Forman Christian College is pleased to celebrate the international research achievement of Dr. Afaf Khalid, Assistant Professor, who received the Best Paper Presentation Award at the Gender, Work & Organization (GWO) 16th Annual Conference 2026.

Held in Astana, Kazakhstan, from 8–10 June 2026, the conference brought together scholars and researchers working across the fields of gender, work, and organizational studies.

Dr. Afaf Khalid presented her research titled:

“Between Patriarchy and Possibility: Multilevel Agency and Mental Health among Working Mothers in Pakistan.”

Her research offers important insights into the intersection of gender, structural agency, and mental health within the Pakistani workforce.

Receiving the Best Paper Presentation Award at an international academic forum reflects the scholarly relevance and impact of her research and further demonstrates the School of Management’s commitment to research excellence, meaningful scholarship, and global academic engagement.

The School of Management, FCCU, successfully hosted the Knowledge Academia Partnership on 16 April 2026, uniting leading universities to strengthen collaboration in research, innovation, and conference engagement. The session was organized by Dr. Mariam Rao, Program Director Research.

A key outcome was the formation of the Knowledge Academia Partnership Committee (KAPC), comprising business school representatives from partner institutions to drive ongoing collaboration.

Participating universities included UMT, UOL, Bahria, BNU, RLKU, Riphah, LGU, Virtual University, and COMSATS. Partners committed to research papers, colloquiums, keynote sessions, and student competitions for FICBI 2026.

FCCU will support through visibility, publication opportunities via the Forman Journal of Business & Innovation, faculty exchange, training, and industry linkages.

This initiative reinforces FCCU’s commitment to impactful academic and industry collaboration.
