ITU Faculty Join U.S. Mission Pakistan Roundtable on the Future of AI

Faculty members from Information Technology University (ITU), including Dr. Mohsen Ali
Associate Professor/ Chairperson of Department of AI / Co-founder of Intelligent Machines Lab, and Dr. Ali Murtaza, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Sciences, participated in a roundtable discussion hosted by the U.S. Consulate General Lahore on “250 Years of American Innovation: Building the Future Together Through Artificial Intelligence.”

The discussion, led by Ms. Natalie A. Baker, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the United States of America, brought together academics, business leaders, and media representatives to explore the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence and its role in shaping the future of innovation.

The dialogue highlighted opportunities for stronger collaboration between academic institutions, businesses, and innovators in the United States and Pakistan, with a shared focus on advancing AI research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and knowledge exchange.

ITU remains committed to fostering meaningful partnerships and contributing to Pakistan’s growing AI and innovation ecosystem.

𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝗧𝗨 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀

Faculty and staff of Information Technology University (ITU) participated in a plantation drive at the Main Campus, Barki Road, contributing to the development of a greener and more sustainable campus environment.

As ITU continues to grow at its new campus, planting trees is an important step towards creating a healthy, eco-friendly and aesthetically vibrant learning environment. Trees will not only enhance the beauty of the campus but also provide shade, improve air quality, support biodiversity, and contribute to a cooler and more comfortable atmosphere for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

This initiative reflects ITU’s commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable campus development, while encouraging the university community to play its part in building a greener future.

ITU has launched a new introductory series on Quantum Computing and Artificial Intelligence at its Main Campus, Barki Road.

The first session introduced faculty members from the Faculty of Engineering to the fundamentals of quantum computing and explored key questions around:

Quantum vs. classical computing
Quantum advantage and practical applications
The future of cybersecurity
Quantum Computing for more efficient AI
How close we are to practical quantum computers

The upcoming sessions will take a deeper dive into Quantum Computing and AI, building a foundation for participants interested in advanced courses and research in these emerging fields.

𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻–𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗧𝗶𝗲𝘀

Information Technology University (ITU) was honored to welcome H.E. Mr. Md. Iqbal Hussain Khan, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Pakistan, to our Main Campus on Barki Road, Lahore.

The High Commissioner was warmly received by the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Tauseef Tauqeer, ITU Registrar Mr. Adeel Asghar, and members of the faculty and staff.

During his visit, H.E. Mr. Khan delivered an insightful address on Bangladesh’s education system, followed by an engaging Q&A session with ITU faculty members. The discussion explored opportunities for educational collaboration and scholarships for students of both countries under the Knowledge Corridor initiative between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The delegation also toured ITU’s laboratories and classrooms, experiencing firsthand our vibrant learning environment and cutting-edge research.

The visit concluded with a high-level meeting with ITU’s senior management, where both sides exchanged ideas on strengthening academic partnerships and creating new opportunities for students and institutions in Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Celebrating the Spirit of Pakistan at ITU! 🇵🇰

Information Technology University main campus on Barki Road was filled with the vibrant hues of green and white as our faculty, administration and the staff came together to celebrate Independence Day with immense patriotic zeal.

The ceremony commenced with the hoisting of our national flag, a proud reminder of our nation's journey and the sacrifices made for our freedom. The ceremony was attended by the university administration, faculty and the staff, who all united in commemorating this historic occasion.

Following the flag hoisting, plantation in the ITU ground by the senior administration and then a festive cake-cutting ceremony was held, symbolizing our shared joy and unity as a community. It was a wonderful opportunity to reinforce our collective commitment to Pakistan's progress and prosperity.

Happy Independence Day to all! May our nation continue to flourish under the guiding principles of Unity, Faith, and Discipline.
