Dr. Shagufta Andleeb (Principal) The University of Education Bank Road Campus Lahore has a long history of almost 79 years. It was established in 1933 in the heart of Lahore city as “Lady Maclagan Training College”. This was the first and the largest institution for female teachers in Asia. This institution produced well trained, well groomed and committed teachers who served not only in their own

country but spread over to serve the British Kingdom also. In 1976, , the institution was named as Govt. College of Education for Women , Lahore and it continued to be one of the most renowned teacher education institution in Asia and boasts of being the only teacher Education institution for women in Pakistan. In September,2002, with the establishment of University of Education, it became one of the constituents of the UE.
