Emerson University VC Prof. Dr. Hassaan Khaliq Qureshi Addresses Mental Health Conference in Multan
The 2nd International Conference on “Violence and Mental Health: Prevention, Intervention and Community Action (VMH-PICA 2026)” orgised by department of Applied Psychology concluded at The Women University Multan on Saturday, with experts stressing urgent action on trauma, violence prevention, and community-based mental health support.The concluding session was chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syeda Shahida Batool.
Prof. Dr. Hassaan Khaliq Qureshi, Vice Chancellor of Emerson University Multan, attended as Guest of Honour. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr.Hassaan Khaliq Qureshi said violence and mental health challenges had become critical concerns for contemporary societies. He emphasized that psychological well-being was central to individual growth, social cohesion, and sustainable development.He called for stronger academic, institutional, and community linkages to ensure research translated into actionable interventions. “Such scholarly platforms are essential for generating evidence-based dialogue and practical solutions to complex social issues,” he added.
Following the session, Prof. Dr. Hassaan Khaliq Qureshi and Prof. Dr.Syeda Shahida Batool discussed potential collaboration between Emerson University Multan and The Women University Multan in research, faculty exchange, and student development programs.
