The Department of Business and Public Administration, Emerson University Multan, successfully organized a Panel Discussion and Training Session for MBA and BBA students on the Punjab Transparency and Right to Information (RTI) Act 2013.

The event aimed to create awareness among students regarding transparency, accountability, and responsible information usage in the modern digital era.

The session brought together students, academics, and subject experts to discuss:

The legal framework and significance of the Punjab RTI Act 2013

The role of open access to government information in strengthening governance

How transparency enhances public trust and institutional accountability

The growing challenge of misinformation and disinformation

Responsible and ethical use of social media platforms

During the training component, students were guided on the practical application of the RTI Act, including how to request public information and how to rely on verified, fact-based data to counter false narratives.

The panel discussion provided an interactive platform where students actively engaged with experts, asked questions, and explored how informed civic participation can contribute to a more transparent and accountable society.

This initiative reflects the Department’s commitment to fostering critical thinking, responsible digital citizenship, and awareness of legal rights among future business leaders.
