ALHAMDULILLAH, I feel blessed to announce that Prof. Dr. Saeed Akhtar, a distinguished academician and former Dean of the Faculty of Food Sciences and Nutrition, has graciously joined Mussarat Institute of Technology (MIT) Multan—a newly chartered degree-awarding institution—as the Head of the Institute. Dr. Saeed Akhtar is a globally recognized Food Scientist whose impactful contributions to research and academia have earned him a place among the world’s top 2% of scientists, as ranked by Stanford University since 2019. He has authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications, accumulating more than 8,000 citations and an H-index of 47. As the founding Dean of the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition at BZ University Multan, he established key academic departments and played a pivotal leadership role. His innovative work led to the development of patented technology for the industrial production of mango kernel oil in Pakistan. He has authored numerous books and book chapters with international publishers and has secured multiple national and international research grants. In recognition of his teaching excellence, he was honored with the Best University Teacher Award by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan in both 2016 and 2022. He also holds fellowships at INTI International University, Putra Nilai, Malaysia, and Matharath University, Thailand, where he continues to play a significant academic role. He completed his post-doctoral training at Oregon State University, USA, where he also served as an Assistant Professor. He has presented his research at prestigious conferences and institutions around the world, including USA, Australia, Canada, the UK, China, Thailand, and the UAE.
