🎓 NIH Research Grant Award

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fawad Rasool, Chairman, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Multan, has been awarded a competitive research grant of PKR 8.7 million by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Islamabad.

The funded research project focuses on generating locally relevant, data-driven solutions to improve rational antibiotic use in primary care settings across Pakistan.

The project aims to strengthen prescribing practices, promote multidisciplinary collaboration, and contribute to national efforts to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through sustainable and scalable stewardship models suitable for resource-limited healthcare systems.

This achievement reflects BZU’s growing role in advancing impactful, policy-relevant health research at the national level.

🎓 Orientation Ceremony – M.Phil Pharmacy Practice

The Orientation Ceremony for newly admitted M.Phil Pharmacy Practice students was held today at the Department of Pharmacy Practice, Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, beginning with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Durood-e-Pak.

DSA, Dr Anees ur Rehman highlighted the department's initiatives in facilitating research and co-curricular activities. Chairman, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Farwa Rasool, introduced the program, its objectives, and learning outcomes, and emphasized that Pharmacy Practice is the leading and most in-demand discipline within pharmacy, with the majority of national and global career opportunities linked to clinical pharmacy and pharmacy practice.

Students were encouraged to consider themselves fortunate to be inducted into this program and were motivated to pursue excellence and groundbreaking research.

The session concluded on an inspiring note, energizing students for a successful academic and research journey ahead. 🌟
