Virtual University of Pakistan – Nankana Sahib Campus
“A dream of higher education, made possible for every student in Nankana Sahib.”
The Virtual University of Pakistan established its Nankana Sahib Campus in 2013 with the aim of providing affordable, quality education to both urban and rural communities of the district — at a time when no higher education institution existed in the area. Since its inception, the campus has played a vital role in the educational and social development of Nankana Sahib.
The campus serves students from seven major towns in the district — Bucheki, Syedwala, Jaranwala, Manawala, Mor Khunda, Bara Ghar, and 5 Chak — while its Bio Lab extends its reach to Biosciences students from Sangla Hill and Sheikhupura as well. For many, especially female students from modest backgrounds, the campus has been a blessing, removing the barriers of high tuition fees and travel expenses. Today, more than 500 students study and take their exams at the VU Nankana Sahib Campus.
Beyond academic facilitation, the campus actively engages in community service and development through:
1. Career counselling sessions in local colleges and workplaces.
2. Seminars, workshops, and hands-on training on the LMS and ICT-based distance education system.
3. Hosting students from other institutions to introduce them to VU’s modern infrastructure, laboratories, and learning environment.
4. Providing computer and internet access to DG Skills students.
5. Serving as the only examination and testing center in Nankana Sahib city for both VU exams and assessments for various government organizations.
With these initiatives, the Nankana Sahib Campus serves as a critical hub for student support, registration, examination, and access to resources. By combining the flexibility of virtual learning with essential in-person services, it ensures that students in the region can fully benefit from VU’s nationwide network and ICT-enabled academic excellence.
