University of Okara secures global ranking by Times Higher Education-2026
The University of Okara (UO) has achieved a significant milestone by being ranked in the 1001–1200 band in the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings-2026, marking a moment of pride for the institution and the higher education sector of Pakistan.
This remarkable achievement reflects the university’s growing academic and research standards, institutional reforms, and commitment to global benchmarks of quality.
The success has been attributed to the dedicated efforts of Dr. Kamran Arshad, Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), and Dr. Saman Zahra, Focal Person for THE Ranking, whose consistent hard work and strategic planning ensured UO’s inclusion among the world’s recognized universities.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Sajjad Mubin, lauded the university’s academic and administrative teams for their collective commitment and highlighted that this recognition was made possible through a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
He further stated that this ranking is “a reflection of UO’s transformation into a research-oriented, globally competitive institution under a vision of academic excellence and societal impact.”
The UO continues to move forward under Dr. Mubin’s visionary leadership, striving to further enhance its academic programs, international collaborations, and research output to secure even higher global recognition in the coming years.
