The Department of Shariah & Law organized an insightful lecture on “The Art of Mooting” as part of its preparations for the Intra-Moot Court Competition, tentatively scheduled to be held on 13 and 14 October.

The session was delivered by Advocate Zahid Ullah, a former student of the Department, who shared valuable insights and practical guidance on the techniques and skills essential for effective mooting. His session focused on developing advocacy skills, constructing persuasive legal arguments, presenting cases effectively, and responding confidently to questions from the bench.

The lecture was followed by an engaging question-and-answer session, during which students actively participated and sought guidance on various aspects of moot court practice.

The event was attended by a large number of students and faculty members. The session provided an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their advocacy skills and better prepare themselves for the upcoming Intra-Moot Court Competition.

Welcome and Orientation Session for 1st Semester Students

The students of the 3rd Semester, Department of Shariah & Law, Islamia College Peshawar, organised a warm and memorable Welcome Party and Orientation Session for the newly enrolled students of the 1st Semester.

The event was arranged with the aim of formally welcoming the juniors to the Department and introducing them to the academic environment, traditions, and values of the institution. The senior students extended their heartfelt welcome to the newcomers and presented them with welcome cards as a token of goodwill and brotherhood.
Adding a special touch to the occasion, the faculty members of the Department presented the new students with departmental uniform coats and formally welcomed them into the academic community. This gesture symbolised their transition into university life and their association with the Department of Shariah & Law.

The ceremony provided an opportunity for students and teachers to interact in a friendly and cordial atmosphere. It also highlighted the spirit of respect, unity, mentorship, and mutual cooperation between senior and junior students.
The faculty appreciated the efforts of the 3rd-semester students in organising such a thoughtful event and encouraged the new students to make the most of their time at Islamia College Peshawar, remain committed to their studies, uphold good character, and actively participate in academic and co-curricular activities.

The event concluded with prayers and best wishes for the success of the newly admitted students in their academic journey.

NOTIFICATION
It is hereby notified for the information of the students of the Department of Shariah & Law, 1st Semester, that an Orientation Ceremony will be held on Tuesday 1st September 2026 as per the following schedule:

LLB Shariah & Law: 10:00 AM
LLB: 11:00 AM
The Orientation Ceremony will be followed by regular classes.

All students of 1st semester are required to attend the ceremony as per the above mentioned schedule

The Department of Law proudly congratulates its students Hamad Saeed Khan and Omar Ziad on successfully completing their Civil and Commercial Mediation Training by passing all required exams and assessments. They are now International Mediation Institute (IMI) Accredited Mediators.

This remarkable achievement made them the youngest IMI Accredited Mediators in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reflecting their dedication to excellence in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), conflict resolution, and legal practice.

The Department wishes them continued success to contribute promoting mediation and peaceful dispute resolution in Pakistan and beyond.

Admission Notice

The Department of Shariah & Law will conduct admissions for its LL.B. (Four-Year) and LL.B. (Shariah & Law) Five-Year degree programs on 7 July 2026.

All applicants are informed that passing the Law Admission Test (LAT) is mandatory for admission to either program. Candidates must present a valid LAT result at the time of admission.

The Department of Shariah and Law at Islamia College Peshawar successfully organized a seminar at the HD Room on the topic “Understanding the 27th Constitutional Amendment: Legal & Social Perspectives.”
The seminar featured Barrister Mian Sarwar Muzaffar Shah as the keynote speaker. During the session, he delivered a comprehensive and thought-provoking talk on the constitutional, legal, and social implications of the 27th Constitutional Amendment, followed by an engaging interactive discussion with students and faculty members.
The event proved to be a valuable academic activity and was widely appreciated by the participants for its relevance and intellectual depth. The worthy Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Ahmad Ur Rahman Saljoqi presented a souvinir to the guest speaker.
