CEIF IMSciences The Centre for Excellence in Islamic Finance (CEIF) is established by the State Bank of Pakistan. Peshawar.

The State bank of Pakistan (SBP) is managing Financial Innovation Challenge Fund (FICF) under the UK-aid funded Financial Inclusion Program (FIP). The main aim of FICF is to help financial sector, in reaching new market segments, lower cost of delivery, enables processes and procedures to be more efficient and provision of new ways to meet the unmet demands of financial services. For this purpose,

SBP has established three Centres for Excellence in Islamic Finance (CEIF) in the best business schools of the country. One CEIF is established at the Institute of Management Sciences (IMSciences). Two other Centres have been established in Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). The main aim of these Centres is to promote Islamic finance through the following ways:

• Arranging standard professional trainings leading toa certifications in Islamic finance for practitioners working in Islamic banks and takaful companies.
• Arranging awareness programs for businessmen, traders, companies and students etc.
• Developing undergraduate, graduate, and PhD programs in Islamic finance
• Offering certificate and diploma programs in Islamic finance in collaboration with Islamic banks and takaful companies.
• Research in Islamic Finance through arranging international conferences, publication of research articles and publishing books.
• Development and maintenance of data hub which will contain data of the Islamic financial institutions, latest research, content of training and degree programs.

CEIF IMSciences and UBL Ameen Conducts Two-Day Training on “Islamic Banking Essentials” for UBL Ameen Staff.

Under the collaborative Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CEIF IMSciences and UBL Ameen, a successful two-day training on “Islamic Banking Essentials” was conducted for UBL Ameen staff in Peshawar and Mardan regions.
The training program aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the core concepts, principles, and practical applications of Islamic Banking and Finance. Throughout the sessions, participants engaged in informative discussions, interactive learning activities, and knowledge-sharing exercises focused on the growing significance of Shariah-compliant financial systems within the modern banking industry.
The sessions provided banking professionals with valuable insights into ethical banking principles, Islamic financial practices, and the evolving role of Islamic finance in promoting sustainable, responsible, and inclusive economic development.
This initiative reflects the shared commitment of CEIF IMSciences and UBL Ameen toward professional capacity building, industry knowledge enhancement, and strengthening expertise in Islamic Banking practices.

Training Session on Takaful for Banking Professionals

A training session on Takaful was conducted at IMSciences, Peshawar. The event was jointly organized by EFU Life Assurance and CEIF IMSciences, aimed at promoting Islamic financial literacy and awareness of Shariah-compliant insurance principles among participants.
The session featured Mr. Adnan Wali from EFU Life Assurance as trainer, who delivered an informative and engaging presentation primarily focused on EFU Life Insurance products. Key topics covered included EFU Life’s range of Takaful and life insurance offerings, product features, coverage options, and their alignment with Shariah principles.
The event provided a valuable learning platform for participants to understand EFU Life’s product portfolio and its practical relevance in Pakistan’s growing Islamic finance sector.
