SECRETARY TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT VISITS BALOCHISTAN AGRICULTURE COLLEGE QUETTA

Quetta, December 3, 2025 - In a bid to enhance public services and implement the directives of Honorable Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Mr. Hayyat Khan Kakar, Secretary Transport Department, visited Balochistan Agriculture College Quetta. The visit aimed to assess the parking facilities for Green and Pink Buses at the college.

During his visit, the Secretary was briefed by Prof. Razzaq Reki, Principal of Balochistan Agriculture College Quetta, about the available resources and infrastructure. The Principal also highlighted the need for additional facilities and security measures to protect the buses and staff.

The Secretary was accompanied by Additional Secretary Transport Department, Mr. Qurban Magsi, and Ali Mohd Durani. He appreciated the college administration's efforts and the infrastructure facilities available at the college.

During the visit, the Secretary emphasized the importance of plantation and advised the college staff to undertake plantation activities on a top priority basis.

The visit demonstrates the government's commitment to improving public services and implementing the vision of the Honorable Chief Minister. The college administration and transport department are expected to work together to provide better facilities for the public and ensure the safe operation of bus services.

SPORTS WEEK INAUGURATED AT BALOCHISTAN AGRICULTURE COLLEGE QUETTA

Quetta, November 17, 2025 – The sports week at Balochistan Agriculture College Quetta was inaugurated today in a ceremony attended by esteemed guests. Madam Kalson Niaz, MPA from the National Party, and Madam Salma Kakar graced the occasion as chief guests. The event marked the beginning of a series of sports activities aimed at promoting talent and healthy competition among students.

During the ceremony, Professor Abdul Razzaq Reki, Principal of Balochistan Agriculture College Quetta, warmly welcomed the guests and presented them with flowers. The guests praised the college's initiative and emphasized the importance of sports in fostering talent and discipline among students. They encouraged the students to excel in their respective fields and contribute to the development of agriculture in the country.

Successful Conclusion of 2-Day Workshop on Molecular Biology and Genetic Approaches

The 2-day workshop on molecular biology and Bioinformatics approaches, organized by Balochistan Agriculture College, Quetta, in collaboration with the Biochemistry Department, University of Balochistan (UOB), and the Plant Breeding and Genetics Department, came to a successful end.

Principal Professor Abdul Razzaq Reki distributed certificates among the participating students and researchers from SBK University, UOB, and Agriculture College, acknowledging their active participation and enthusiasm.

The workshop, supervised by Dr. Ghulam Rasool Lashari and supported by Dr. Sohail Sahib, Dr. Muhammad Javid Hasani, and other faculty members, focused on Bioinformatics approaches, DNA extraction and gene amplification using PCR machines, and bioinformatic analysis.

Participants engaged in hands-on practical sessions, learning PCR protocols, gene extraction techniques, and bioinformatic approaches.

2-Day Workshop on Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics Approaches

Balochistan Agriculture College, Quetta, in collaboration with the Biochemistry Department, University of Balochistan (UOB), and the Plant Breeding and Genetics Department, successfully organized a 2-day workshop on Molecular Biology Techniques and Bioinformatics approaches.

The workshop, supervised by Dr. Ghulam Rasool Lashari and supported by dedicated faculty members, including Dr. Sohail Sahib and Dr. Muhammad Javid Hasani focused on Molecular genetic approaches, DNA extraction DNA amplification using PCR and RT-PCR machines, qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Students from Balochistan University, Sardar Bahadur Khan University, and BUITEMS actively participated in the workshop, engaging in hands-on practical sessions under expert supervision.

Principal Prof. Abdul Razzaq Reki delivered the keynote address, commending the collaborative efforts of both departments and expressing appreciation for the resource persons' valuable contributions.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad, in collaboration with Balochistan Agriculture College Quetta, organized an awareness session to motivate students about the undergraduate scholarship program for Balochistan and erstwhile FATA students.accademic year 2025-26

Balochistan Agriculture College, Under Prof. Abdul Razzaq Reki, Signs Landmark Collaboration with IWMI:

As part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between IWMI and academic institutions in Balochistan, Letters of Collaboration were signed between IWMI and Balochistan Agriculture College, Quetta, University of Balochistan, and Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University. The partnership aims to promote joint research, fieldwork, training, and the allocation of campus space for kitchen gardening initiatives. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Muhammad Arshad (DCR & Expert, IWMI), Prof. Abdul Razzaq Reki, Principal, Balochistan Agriculture College, Quetta, Vice Chancellor University of Balochistan, Dr. Zahoor Bazai, and Vice Chancellor SBK Women’s University, Dr. Rubina Mushtaq. IWMI staff members, including Mr. Hameed and Ms. Irum Naeem, along with faculty representatives from the participating institutions, were also present.
