The English Access Microscholarship Program 2012-14 (Access) provides opportunities to 14 to 17 years old students from underserved communities develop their English language proficiency and enhance their ability to successfully pursue better career options. In addition to developing and enhancing their English language skills, the participants also acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes conduc
ive to operating successfully as both a national and a global citizen believing in core values such as democracy, human rights, liberty, pluralism, and community service. For this, the program also incorporates various enhancement activities such as community service projects, class representatives’ elections, newsletter development, readers’ clubs, integration of ICT and many more. These activities aim at developing students’ confidence and communicative skills through participation in meaningful learning experiences.
