USKT Celebrates Independence Day & Quaid-e-Azam’s 150th Birth Anniversary

The University of Sialkot (USKT) hosted a ceremony under the supervision of Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq Ur Rahman, Vice Chancellor, commemorating Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day and the 150th Birth Anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah (R.A.). Organized by the Board of Societies, University of Sialkot, the event brought together students, faculty members, and staff in a vibrant celebration of patriotism, leadership, and national unity.

The ceremony featured a welcome address by the Acting Secretary, Board of Societies, highlighting the significance of Pakistan’s independence and the enduring vision of Quaid-e-Azam. The audience was captivated by a diverse range of performances, including soulful Milli Naghmas, impactful Urdu and English speeches, colorful cultural presentations, and a compelling theatrical performance by USKT students. These performances reflected the spirit of freedom, national identity, and the values that continue to inspire future generations.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq Ur Rahman emphasized the relevance of Quaid-e-Azam’s principles of Unity, Faith, and Discipline in shaping a progressive and prosperous Pakistan. He encouraged students to uphold these ideals and contribute meaningfully to society through knowledge, innovation, and responsible citizenship.

The event showcased the dedication and efforts of the Board of Societies, USKT, while reaffirming the university’s commitment to academic excellence, civic engagement, and the promotion of national values. Open House 2026 | Department of Education

The Department of Education, University of Sialkot hosted Open House 2026, bringing together educationists, academic leaders, alumni, scholars, students, and parents to celebrate excellence, innovation, and future opportunities in education.

The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Muhammad Saeed Asghar, CEO (DEA) Sialkot; Mr. Hassan Saftain Cheema, Director, Allama Iqbal Open University, Sialkot; Prof. Muhammad Munir Qadri, Principal, Govt. Jinnah Islamia College Sialkot; Miss Raheela Seemab, DEO (W), E/E Sialkot; and Mr. Muhammad Arshad Butt, Ex-Deputy Director Colleges. The distinguished guests also met Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Khaleeq Ur Rahman, Vice Chancellor, University of Sialkot, and appreciated the university’s academic vision and achievements.

Prof. Dr. Navid Jamil Malik, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Dr. Rashid Minas Wattoo, Head of Department, Department of Education, highlighted the department’s academic journey and future aspirations. The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Sumble Bibi, Assistant Professor, while Dr. Muhammad Qasim Ali, Assistant Professor, moderated an engaging panel discussion on “Education for the Future.”

The Open House also featured alumni success stories, educational activities, performances, and departmental tours, making it a memorable learning experience for all participants.

ORIC–USKT Strengthening Industry–Academia Collaboration

The Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), University of Sialkot (USKT) proudly participated in the Industry Academia Collaboration Ceremony, bringing together PCSIR Lahore, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI), and universities of District Sialkot to support the region’s export industry.

Representing USKT, Dr. Brian Gagosh Nayyar, Director ORIC, joined this collaborative initiative aimed at utilizing university expertise, human resources, and laboratory facilities to address industrial testing needs while facilitating laboratory upgradation through PCSIR’s technical support and expertise.

Through such strategic partnerships, ORIC–USKT continues to promote industry academia linkages, applied research, innovation, knowledge exchange, and sustainable regional development.

The Department of Biotechnology, University of Sialkot organized an insightful Open House, introducing students to the exciting world of biotechnology and its growing impact on industry and innovation.

Led by Dr. Jawad Munawar Shah, Head of the Department, and with Syeda Quratulain Gillani as the speaker, the session explored Industrial Biotechnology and Emerging Career Opportunities in Advanced Biotechnology. Students gained valuable knowledge about emerging trends, industry demands, and future career pathways in this rapidly advancing field.

OPEN HOUSE 2026 | Department of Computer Science, University of Sialkot

The Department of Computer Science, University of Sialkot, organized Open House 2026, showcasing innovation, technology, and future opportunities in the ever-evolving field of Computer Science. The event arrangements were looked after by Dr. Muhammad Saad Amin.

A key highlight of the event was the panel discussion on “Agentic and Traditional Programming: Challenges and Opportunities,” featuring distinguished alumni Mr. Awais, Founder of Brimix Software House, and Mr. Faizan, Software Engineer at a leading company in the UAE, who shared valuable industry insights, career experiences, and a live demonstration for students.

Ms. Sadaf, Moderator, along with the faculty members, played an instrumental role in the successful ex*****on of the event. Students, alumni, faculty members, and guests explored exciting final-year projects, technology demonstrations, and interactive discussions, reflecting the department’s commitment to academic excellence and industry engagement.

The program concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony to honor the esteemed guests for their contributions and support.
